Can't make a fire

Question

Razar    0

Okay, so I've gone ahead and combined rage with sticks, and placed a log in the fireplace kit. I don't get the option to ignite? What's up with that?

So you have made an fireplace kit, right?

1 stick + 1 rag = fireplace kit.

Have you tried adding 5 sticks to the fireplace kit and after that, adding the logs?

Maybe it is a bug with the server or the server just has a lot of D-sync! Good luck, don't die of hypothermia

That's what I'm worried about, and I'll try to add more sticks

doesn't give me the option to add more sticks..

The new recipe is 1 rag or sheet of paper+one stick for the kit. Then for the proper fireplace, you need to add either one pile of 5 sticks or 3 logs. Then you can upgrade to an oven with 8 stones, or add a cooking tripod and a cooking pot to cook food.

When you are adding logs/sticks to the kit, make sure its a stack of sticks/logs before you drag it into the kit.

You need the kit for the fireplace. Let me take you through the steps one by one.

1- Get a rag and one stick.

2- Drag one onto the other.

3- Craft a fireplace kit.

4- Chop kindling from 2 bushes, get 5 sticks in one single pile.

6- Alternatively, chop a tree and get 3 logs in one single pile.

7- Drag either the pile of 5 sticks or 3 logs onto the fireplace kit.

8- Light the fireplace.

9- Enjoy

Then, you can add 8 rocks in a single pile to make it into an oven, or add a cooking tripod and a cooking pot to cook food.

Basically make the fireplace kit (1 rag + 1 stick)

After that, have 5 sticks or 3 logs in a stack and drag them over the fireplace kit (it should change into a fireplace).

After that, add fuel in there (like 3 logs) and have matches in your hands and you should be able to ignite it.

Maybe post this in Guides and Turorials section, or maybe add this to a existing guide ? Perhaps get that particular OP to add it ?

When you have the matches in hand, is it a scroll wheel option to light the fire? I had a similar issue with my fire kit not lighting, and it had all of the above.

Maybe my matches were damaged, didn't think to check. :)

If you Google "dayz fireplace", the first result is a wiki page with these specific instructions, with added graphics. How hard is it really, are people that lazy?
