You aren't really gonna find anything good for free unless it is.. pirated..

The best is Sony Vegas. That's my personal opinion. There is no other way to get it unless you have the money.

Windows Movie Maker is a brilliant piece of software for it being free, it's user friendly and easy to understand.

If you're willing to pay here's some options, however.

Sony Vegas

After Effects

Camtasia Studio

Final Cut Pro

I started out using Camtasia, it's a simple and easy step from WMM and doesn't confuse too much, even comes with its own video tutorial in the package, probably one of the cheaper ones too.

Sony Vegas is a good software and I've stuck with it for years but at the moment I want to move onto Adobe After Effects to get a more flexible editing software.

Both are good but have different uses.

I use Sony Vegas Pro 12. Best software available, in my opinion.

SV12 is easy to use for people new to it and there's no limit to its potential. You'd be editing like a pro in no time. :P

Final cut is legit the best but wayyyy over the top for editing some youtube videos or something

It's what I used to do movie and trailer editing in uni so :D

Do you think your question has been answered OP? Most people reccomend Sony Vegas or After effects :)

Glad you got your answer OP!

Try them out and see which is easier for you to use and understand, their UIs are quite different :)

I use Adobe Premier Pro. So far that has allowed me to get the job done :-)
