verify the game in the steam options and see if that helps go in to properties and local files and verify integrity.

and have everything updated.

If you after a reboot start only DayZ, no browser, TeamSpeak etc. Does it still crash?

If the problem is still there when starting "fresh", might be one auto-loaded program/service causing trouble like truex suggests. Close them after rebooting (again). Stuff like Dropbox, Office quick-launch. Usually a small icon by the clock or hiding behind the small up arrow icon.

And what OS are you using, Windows 7, 8, 8.1?

I had the same problem when i was using a wireless connection, If you close the box that pops up showing you all the available connections instead of minimising, it should solve the problem and not close the game down to the desktop, that's the only advise i have on this situation hope it helps :)

Also check and rule out potential hardware issues as well. Is your graphics card overheating ? Temps in general can cause instability as well as possible issues with system RAM. Maybe a stick is going bad ? Run a memtest too. I know crashes are frustrating because it could be a million things. Good luck in fixing the issue.

P.S. also check your windows logs. Sometimes it will give certain hints as to what the issue might be.
