I hate that Gay-Straight alliance bullshit. I went to one meeting and it was a bunch of people talking about who they have sex with. AND THE ANIME CUB WAS "INAPPROPRIATE FOR A SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT" honestly if those board people win (they wont because the socialist will stop them) I will be surprised.

I am a patriotic Christian and a conservative. And this disgusts me.

"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you"

-Matthew 5:44 King James Version (KJV)

Did Jesus go only to the pious and righteous? No he went to the sinners, the possessed, the sick and the outcasts. Jesus preached and taught peace, not intolerance and strife. A message of faith and renewal to all that would accept. Not ramming anything down anyone's throats. Please do not get a bad impression of Christians just because a select few of us are incapable of basic levels of tolerance. Whatever your definition of sin is, fighting and intolerance fix nothing and only make division deeper.

In any case, no need to pin this on Jesus. He's got enough nails in him already.

I just don't understand why it affects anyone else's life if they start a gay-straight club. Who gives a shit?

As a gay man myself all I can say is, who gives a shit, don't like something? Ignore it or deal with it.

Euros might not understand how intertwined the religious right is with most school boards. The block is not surprising, I'm sure they have their reasons for it.

Mississippi apparently.

Rhetorical question.

-snip-

Thus why I like you, man.

Anyways, my only issue ever is with stupid people who use religion as an excuse, no matter what that religion is. Also, the ones that go overboard with it to zealous levels. Same with anyone who uses something as an excuse to treat people poorly constantly.

Yeah. I am worried that both Muslims and Christians across the world are slowly being marginalized.

I live in Georgia, and even my school has a gay straight alliance club no anime club tho. many of the gay kids are not bullied and are socially accepted. It seems that some problems are much bigger in some states than others. even though both Georgia and Mississippi are both hardcore republican strongholds

Yet the US is supposed to be a secular state and religion interferes more with education politics than say the UK which does have a state religion so GG.

As for forming groups isn't this part of the problem? Shouldn't we be moving away from labels such as Straight, Gay, Black, White, Christian or Muslim? How about we tried identifying ourselves as human beings? I swear we could solve most of the problems if we got rid of a lot of this discrimination law and replaced it with "Don't be a dick to your fellow human beings."

Crazy people gotta be crazy. Nothing new under the sun. As long as people dont take the crazies as a wider representation of the whole, which unfortunetly is a way bigger problem then the crazies themselves.

The US is not a secular state by any means. We still say under god in the pledge of allegiance, in a public school.

Labels are natural, labels are good.

Call a Jew a human, still a Jew. Call a Christian a human, still a christian.
