You can always use text to roleplay but things like that will happen :D.

Maybe I'm just an asshole but I don't like talking to people who use just text.

Me neither but sometimes text rp is more exciting than voice.

When is text RP ever more exciting than voice RP?

When the text rper is doing it right and well. Also you can express yourselves better with text and be as old as you want without torturing the voice.

Eh, here we go again...

It's weird that some people discredit text RP. Text RP has always been the dominant form of roleplay when it comes to video games. It was the earliest form of digital roleplay, starting with AOL chat rooms and then onward to MMOs.

Besides, how else do you describe the actions your character is doing?

Saying, "I take a cigarette out and light it" out loud just isn't the same as typing something elaborate and intriguing like: *Takes out a stale Chernarussian cigarette and puts it to lips before striking a match to light the tobacco.* Text RP brings so much more feeling and creativity to any given situation.

I'm not saying voice RP is bad---I love to use both, when I can. But to discredit one form or the other is kind of naive, IMO.

Besides, in the end, it makes me sad if people are just flat-out too lazy to read... like, what?

What is the world coming to? xD

I like combining it. I usually perform actions with text and use voice to make my character more believeable by putting on an accent for example.

Both is fine and I really don't understand why people have issues with textRP

Not really a fan myself, prefer the actions to be within the game, hopefully when they add stuff like vodka and cig it would encourage more action/animation RP. Or if something is being tortured, hit them in the hand with a knife rather than just write that you are cutting their fingers off. I think the game adds quite abit to RP over the mod

I much prefer hanging out with people who have mics.

But good textRpers don't bother me. Except while travelling and you can't really talk.

I did it when I first join, (master of the HL2 garrys mod role play servers) and honestly it just not the same as using my creepy voice to express my characters personality
