Standalone randomly crashes

Question

Besphynx    0

So, as of late my DayZ decides it wants to crash, this can be from doing anything, from running, looting, anything. It does not happen in any specific area. I could of been circling an area for 20 minutes then suddenly crash.

All that happens is DayZ freezes, I then have to alt tab to close out dayz because Windows says it has stopped working.

Anyone know why this could be happening?

I have deleted and re installed it, disk checked, and defrag'd my HDD and it is still crashing.

Have you updated your graphics cards?

Does it do it in windowed mode?

When it says it has stopped working, is there a little arrow you can click to expand a box containing the error? If so, please post the error here.

Solved my problem, It could be that if your recording to your only disk it would state 100% disk usage which would end up crashing your game.

Well, I can say that when playing yesterday for 4+ Hours on public servers I did not crash once and I have 300+GB space free :)

So you only crash on this server then?

So you only crash on this server then?

That seems to be so, might end up playing Standalone tonight on public servers and see if I crash.

But yeah, I do crash on RP and not on other servers even when they have persistence and what not.

I also have had no gear on me, nothing at all and still crashed.

Have you tried out the RP server again to confirm this?

Nope but will do soon, perhaps tonight and see how it goes.

Played for 45 minutes, moved around a fair bit and did not end up crashing.

Mark this as solved, if I carry on getting them I shall for it to be reopened :)

ive had this happen to me from time to time, i noticed it was taking up a massive increases of ram and cpu compared to normal. normally it takes up about 1-2 gb of ram and not more then 30-40% of my cpu but every once in awhile it skyrockets to 4-5 gb of ram and maxes out my cpu.

at this point in time i think it has to be a memory leak they have yet to fix

DayZ Uses 9GB of RAM out of 16GB and uses 80% of CPU So ya know.
