Rule removal

In order to initiate hostile actions against other players you MUST have a valid IC reason, like an actual need for specific equipment from the victim that he is carrying or previous hostilities between the you and the victim that would warrant the hostility. Initiating any hostile actions without any of the above met will be considered bad RP.

People initiate hostilities for all types of reasons. People are now using this rule to justify non-compliance and to punish those they feel have done them wrong. This type of rule can be clearly decided upon by using a 'bad RP' judgement and does not need to be mentioned in the rules.

This, I agree 100 percent, this rule defiantly seems like it takes some freedom out of the game and makes you on edge every time you want to initiate (OOC).

seems as though half the time you initiate on people now others are putting up reports just becuase they lost gear or are upset OOC that you robbed them, they go into the robbery not wanting to enjoy it as they feel OOC that it should not be happening...

Agreed.

People will initiate for all types of reasons, and the problem is, is when the person doesn't comply and gets mad so they make a report.

Members need to understand that if you don't comply and you get shot right off the bat, your not going to know why they robbed you, you probably never will.

Fully supported. There is no reason this would not work unless you are just in it for robbing on random.

What you're saying is remove this rule text while still enforcing it with bad RP rule? That will make no difference in game and will only confuse players thinking they're allowed to be hostile towards other players for whatever OOC reason.

I don't know what you mean by justifying non-compliance, but people cannot punish anyone with a report discussion. Reports mean nothing without a verdict. If a rule was indeed broken it is only good that a report is created.

The rule was introduced specifically for the reason that people did not have good judgement regarding hostile RP and I believe it has a positive effect on the hostile RP on the server, makes bandits think more IC and less OOC pew pew :)

Not really, because the rule as it stands, it says they can rob for any reason, even gear, as long as they have a reason. So, nothing really has changed by adding this rule. Its kind of redundant, Rolle.

To be honest, I initiate on people to give them RP. 7 times out of 10 I don't actually need anything, I just want to let them experience the RP of a hostage/informant/slave/soap dropper because that's what I'm here to do, RP with people.

You might want to try to RP without pointing your gun at someone at least once. I get the feeling of superiority and control is nice for you, but it's not enjoyable for everyone, most of the time it just feels like being bullied.

You might want to try not sitting around a campfire and being all friendly to people at least once, I don't think you realise I have roleplayed a nice character for a long time previously, being in the OG TWS for quite a while and even running a socialist group that handed out supplies all the time. So do not judge what I personally like from a character I role play in a game. It's ridiculous :D

Well it seems we have both misjudged each other as I have also robbed some people a long time ago on an alternate character. I imagine it's because I've only known you for your B-17 character and for that I apologize. I guess each has his preference, I for one have a hard time being a bandit because I don't like to do to others what I wouldn't like being done to me, now back on topic! :)

While that is well I'm good. I'm sure most people that have been on RP have experienced that type of RP on multiple occasions. Sometimes that experience can become repetitive, so if the person robbing has no actual reason to do it, I can see why some would consider it bad RP.
