The lacking of decent and proper behaviour?

Recommended Posts

Grihm    16

Is it just me, or has the general " i don´t even need to bother " mentality suddenly gone up?

Reports are in masses, bad rp is recorded and people are banned all over. What is going on? One thing that has been gnawing me for a long time is that you do see people being banned in as little as three days or so, and no posts basically on the forums made by them either. Is it time to up the whitelist and think it over or should this just be as it is?

Also, when looking at people being here and how warning points are given left to right, why the slacking off? The rules you respected properly when you joined are still here, so what is going on?

I think its nothing special honestly. Some people are just trolls or frankly just don't give a fuck and that's how it will always be. Those that the white list does miss are just banned from reports. I guess you could make the white list "harder" or a "stricter" process, but I still think a fair amount of those people will make there way in and they will just end up getting banned and either learn from it or continue to be idiots.

Trolls are trolls. It's not like it is all of a sudden an epidemic. Upping the whitelist is irrelevant. They either choose to follow the rules or not, it's never due to ignorance of them.

It´s just sad to see really. People joining, not even typing a post and bam, 10 min later they are banned.

Almost wish there was a mission server to go through first as a trial ;)

But in all seriousness, it´s just damn shameful to see the lack of respect and just the need to troll, and then to come crawling with an appeal. Im most likely old in my ways, but damn some people should shape up and be less selfish.

Then they would behave during the trial mission, and troll after. People who do this do it on purpose, they just think they won't get caught doing it or don't care. The system is still taking care of them.

I am always open to suggestions, and also for a carrot on a stick.

Perhaps one could consider having a fitting ingame "reward solution" that benefits those that behaves and follows the rulesets.

No not weapons or veichles, but something.

I would like to see specialisations in classes for example, and that you can only play those if you have a clean slate and such. More like the police whitelist on Altis or in that area.

Because the Community is now meh, it feels regulated. Roleplay is meh after you pretty mutch experienched most roleplay styles in a year time and... why bother youknow. Most people are leaving most people are inactive most people dont give a hoot anymore. I miss late 2013 when it all was FUN.

I could say the same about WoW :D Online games and communities do not stay the same and nostalgia is a strong feeling. I wouldn't say everything is shit or meh, it's simply different. We got new patches and new features in mod as well as SA too :)

I disagree the community is just Meh. Sure we have our ups and downs, it has always been like this since I joined over a year and a half ago. Regardless of the drama that can occur I still believe a lot of people love and care about this community. Sure, sometimes we get people who will troll but they are dealt with. I can honestly say from personal experience whether spectating or playing IG the quality of RP has gone up. I think a lot of people can form unfair opinions based on a couple of reports instead of actually experiencing things IG. I would like to challenge people to get in game more and see for themselves. Of course from time to time you will get some bad RP but you have to ask yourself why that is and what you are doing to improve. I think the more experienced players need to realize that newer players may not be as good or experienced and instead of getting frustrated maybe try helping them out with their RP. The only way people will improve and get better is if we take a proactive approach instead of a negative one.

Bottom line as I already stated is that people form judgements against people/groups based on some stuff they read in forums which then kick starts frustration from that group as well. We all have our part in this community and I think we need to just breathe and chill.

I agree with this completely. I am new to this community and I do not have a huge past of rping experience. I do however have the drive and desire to learn and become a great rper. From what I have seen in standalone is a community in the teamspeak that is really accepting and who are willing to help out the new rpers. This is really great in my opinion and I feel with this I will be able to make great rp in the future. I also feel it is easier for the new rpers to start now with the test standalone server, as it has given me some time to practice before the lore comes out.

I don't know if this community has turned into ''meh''

I mean, I still have nostalgia about 2013. But I didn't play in 2014 except for last week. I can't say anything if 2013 was better than 2014. I know that DayZRP has became much more proffessional than before. And perhaps more serious. I do think that we need to reshape the rules, but in general, the community has gone to the better.

The settlement rules are bad in my opinion though. But I guess that new rules are in progress?

I could say the same about WoW.

A lot of the time when people are permabanned before even making their first post, the reason is almost never for bad behaviour or anything. More often than not they are trying to circumvent a previous ban or some other shenanigans.

Correction - The community is not Meh, but lots of the reports could be avoided if people just talked it out first, and a lot of the bad rp could be avoided as well if people considered others more.

I´m guessing some are borded and just let thier guard down a bit more than they should.

In one way, i am still saying that i think that the TP was a very good place for many to hone their rp in since it´s very hard to engage in a good rp session if you are new or uncertain of how to rp. This especially when being out in the open or around players where you can be initiated on at any time.

Not every player has fully experienced the game yet, and when i began playing i just died and died in my first day until Dr Nightingale found me and i got a ride to the TP. There my rp just skyrocketed and i started to have so many good encounters and met a lot of interesting people.

Honestly the rules and the way things are handled has changed but the overall community is the same as it was a year ago with just some different people.

Nothing has changed, just the new trolls filtering in and they will be filtered out.

Keyboard warriors, just Keyboard warriors. What else is there to say people like to test other peoples limits whilst doing it from behind a blanket of protection called a computer screen. I admit i'm guilty of this but isn't everyone at some point?.

Well as a potential new member, I hope to be a positive part of this community. I have searched for an RP community and a game like DayZ to be a part of and am excited at the possibility of being whitelisted here. For years I played on an old NWN RP server and it's still around proving that even if people come and go, a community can still thrive as long as individuals decide to make it a positive fun place to be. I'll try and do my part and hope to see some of you in game eventually.
