ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead has stopped working

Question

Conor    243

Everytime I start my ArmA it crashes with this message:

28aff17989.png

Problem signature:
 Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
 Application Name: ArmA2OA.exe
 Application Version: 1.63.125.548
 Application Timestamp: 53b16561
 Fault Module Name: ole32.dll
 Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.17828
 Fault Module Timestamp:	4f98d130
 Exception Code: c0000005
 Exception Offset: 0004a250
 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
 Locale ID: 2057

Sometimes it crashes during the loading screen but if I do manage to get onto the main menu, it crashes as soon as I click 'Multiplayer'.

I have tried:

  • Running with and without BattlEye
  • Running Via the .exe, Steam AND the RP Launcher
  • Reinstalling BattlEye manually
  • Reinstalling my game
  • Updating my chipset and GPU drivers
  • I have run everything as Admin
  • Verifying my game cache

An interesting note regarding the last point, when I do verify it - it tells me that two (2) files failed to validate and will be reacquired.

However it says tha every time so for some reason they are not being reacquired. Don't know if that is the cause of the problem.

Alright, I have this problem every day. You will have to do this step every time you restart your PC.

Verify this : 1a4f3b9cb6.png

Once it is done. Launch this 1a4f3b9cb6.png through steam and nothing else. An error will come up. Go to your arma 2 oa steam folder and launch this d80d27d538.png as administrator and it will work. You will have to do this everyday.

The only thing I could think to do would be to manually delete both the files that fail to validate and then verify it again. If that doesn't work im not too sure.

Just a quick question are you launching ArmA 2 OA directly through steam or the DayZRP launcher?

Do I have to do it every day? Or just every time I restart my PC because I almost never restart my PC :P

It doesn't tell me what files failed to validate, how can I find them?

I also did not get an error when I launcher Arma 2:OA.

What is the error you get?

This is a APPCRASH.

Run the system file checker.

Run as Admin a command prompt and run the command;

sfc /scannow

This will scan and replace the faulty module.

This error is different from our friend Conor above.

It seems to me that you should check your hard drive for inconsistencies as a start.

So does it work or not Conor ?:D

Nope :(

Last night I just got frustrated and deleted both games.

I think it could be an issue with windows? I dunno.

I think this week I might format and use it as an excuse to install an SSD.
