Adding smoke back to heli crashes

Should smoke be added back to heli crashes?

  1. 1. Should smoke be added back to heli crashes?

With the fact that it has been two years since the outbreak, a lot of helicopters have crashed and kept crashing over time. In the lore it says how the world went silent and I think if we follow the lore we can estimate that after the outbreak for like two to five maybe six months the helicopters have kept crashing. It's been two years and finding a helicopter that has crashed two years ago that still has working equipment inside it is very unlikely and here is why: For two years lone survivors, groups and clans have covered every square kilometer of Chernarus and would have gathered all of these supplies from the crash sites. With recent groups COMING & GOING from Chernarus, they can leave on foot, vehicle, boat or HELICOPTER. These new crash sites can be of old clans trying to leave but failed, new clans coming in but failed, council sending a heli but failed, hell CTC heli could have crashed. I have no problem if people don't see it as I do but this makes more sense than two year helicopters that keep spawning in the most OBVIOUS locations which I'm pretty sure would have been looted already. This can also bring something new in the RP scenery and how people will approach these new crashes when they see other nearby. Don't look at this as loot gathering wise but as role-playing wise.

It is more awesome when you see that smoke in the distance and you get that warm fuzzy feeling however they did remove them to make it harder for people to find them

That looking at loot wise, yeah I understand that that's the reason why they removed it but it just doesn't make sense role-playing wise. This is DayZ RP after all.

No offence but thread is pretty much pointless at the moment :)

1.4.0 has a new heli crash system including smoke at crashes... Kind of. It's a lot more natural and fair now, a great balance between smoke giving away location and no smoke making them super hard to find.

So it's like semi smokey? :)

But if you think about it, what if that heli-crash has been there for ages and not been found (talking about reality) - This means that the fire that was caused when it crashed has eventually burnt itself out and there wouldn't be any smoke.

So your saying the smoke would eventually go out after a period of time?

;)

It would in real life, if there's no fire then there's no smoke. Simple. :P

-snip-

Unnecessary post that could be classed as flame-baiting. It adds nothing to the OP, do not post something like this again or points will be handed out. /Hatch
