What is Puush?

It's a FREE service used to host files that can be shared on other sites. It's easy to set up and simple to use. It's an alternative to DropBox as they have now gone to a paid service for a public folder.

  • Step 1) Download Puush from
this website

Step 2) Once it has downloaded, it'll take you to a page that looks like this:

Step 3) If you have not got an account, press this button:
WEuHAN3.png?2
That will take you to this page.
Ste 4) You then go back to Puush (Not the website) and log in here:

Once you have logged in, click "Ok I've got it" at the bottom.
Step 5) The window will close, but don't panic. It has just minimized to your task bar:

You can double click it to get up all of the settings for Puush, here you can change your keybinds, logout, check for updates and mess around with the general settings.
Step 6) Now you have Puush, you can upload whatever you want from pictures to MP3's. I will now show you an example of uploading an MP3 to use on a thread.

EXAMPLE:
Step 1) You now have Puush, that is great. To upload anything, right click the icon on your taskbar: VTLwwxf.png?2
For the MP3, we're going to want to upload a file
Step 2) Find where your downloaded file is and click it.
Step 3)After clicking a ping will appear and that looks like this:
LXAjpCj.png?1
Click on the ping and a tab will open with your music in the centre and your link in the URL box.
Step 4) To embed this on the forums you have to use the code:
[mp3]linkhere[/mp3]

Step 5) If done correctly, it should look like this
[mp3]http://puu.sh/8V1hw/97fc78b239.mp3[/mp3]
Personally, I like centering it to the middle so when it opens up it is in the middle.

Feedback is very welcome, tell me if I need to add anything or do any other examples

Puush < Gyazo

Gyazo is for junkies.

Anyway, nice guide Hatch. Puush is probably the most used piece of software I have on my machine - it's an absolute beast of an app.

You should include about the live screenshots though, since it's the main feature of Puush :P Maybe talk about how you can set it up to automatically save screenshots to a folder on your computer etc?

I'll have a look into it, I've only downloaded Puush today and made a guide because so many people have asked me about the embedded MP3.

That's the only feature of Puush that I know, and I use it all the time.

Is there a way to achieve this with Dropbox? Does it work differently at all?

To use dropbox you need a public folder. The only way to have a public folder now is to purchase it or have an old account with it already enabled.

To achieve this with dropbox you just drag and drop the downloaded MP3 into the public folder:

As you can see from this image; I have my own folder for music inside of the public one - You can just right click to make a new folder.

Once the MP3 is inside dropbox just right click on the file you want and click:

Then use that link that pops up to place it into the code for embedding;

I love how people say "AFRICAN SONG" when it's in portuguese.

Therefore Brazilian...

These musics is why I hate my country...

//Off-Topic OFF

Thanks for the tutorial! I had some problems again with this MP3 thing as you know... And this really helped me!

You say this is an alternative for dropbox, could a person host an xml from here or does it not have that kind of functionality?

I don't think so as Puush just uploads your files for a short-ish amount of time. Whereas, Dropbox allows you to upload your files into folders where it is kept in there for ever.
