Whitelisting closed for non-donators?

I have a friend who is interested in applying, but when he tries to apply for whitelisting he gets a message that the whitelist applications are closed for non-donators at the moment. Any news when these would re-open for non-donators, he doesn't want to donate to a community for which he has no experience in yet.

it opens and closes based on how many apps they have I'm pretty sure. If he waits a week or two I would imagine it would open some time by then

Yeah with the new patch and the TP being added, both servers have been at very high population. Either donate, or wait a few weeks for things to settle down. Either way it shouldn't be long until your friend is in game.

Pretty much what everyone said. Either have your friend donate or have him patiently wait. The admins are very busy and once they are caught up whitelisting will be reopened to everyone. They where open this past weekend but has been limited to donors due to the high influx of apps. Keep checking back every day.
