Problem with launcher

Recommended Posts

Question:

The DayZRP launcher detected my A2 directory inside of the A2 OA folder.

I think that fucks stuff up and I cannot join the RP servers. So can anyone tell me what's wrong or give a solution?.

IS the problem on the Mod, Epoch or Standalone: DayZRP mod

Does this problem occur on other publuc DayZ/Arma/SA servers as well: No

How long have you had this problem: Since today

What have you done to fix this already: Tried reinstalling the launcher, checked arma 2 /OA file integrety

manually specify installation location does not work

And it is not supposed to locate the A2 directory in the OA folder. They should be seperate

You are right, Launcher is not supposed to do that, unless it is like that, what version of the Launcher are you using?

Do verify that the games really ARE separated.

If not. reinstall both games.

According to the manually set path in the attachment, paths is not separated.

Set the right path to the ARMA2 installation.

How am i supposed to verify the paths?

Use the file explorer and look under;

G: program files, Steam, Steamapps, common.

In that folder you should have your ArmA2 and ArmA2 OA folders,

that is you paths to the games.

Those are correct. But when i use the manually setting paths option in the launcher nothing happens . I cant type in there or do anything else with the path boxes

That was strange! I just tried myself and same for me.

As a workaround for now, download Dayz Commander and use the same manually specify installation location function.

dayzcommander.com

Have just bought and installed ArmA2 and ArmA2 OA ?

I ticked the boxes but it was already correct on dayz commander. It didn't change anything on the rp launcher

Yes, agree, very strange....

Do you have admin rights when installed and running the DayzRP launcher?

This goes over my head right now, I will think about though, I let you know if I get a clue, doubt it though.

Well, you are now up and running the game I hope.

My pleasure!

Yes i did

Is the DayzRP Launcher installed on the same HD as the ArmA installations?

Also, try reboot once after the DayzRP Launcher installation.

I actually never use the launcher unless it's for updates.

I usually go into

-dayz commander, settings

-look at the section 'dayz directory' press override next to that.

-the box under 'dayz directory' should light up showing where the files are and can be changed.

-in the box the link should end \DayZ. Just add RP to the end of that DayZ

-now click 'launch game' and arma will start

-go to multiplayer screen in arma and filter DayZRP.com

-S1 and S2 should show.

- now join and it should be fine

With this just make sure in commander settings that all directory boxes have the file location of Arma and Arma OA. Do not change these just the dayz directory.

With the launcher to update files or patches I usually

-click to download launcher

-box will show by windows saying run, save etc.

-click run and let it open to patch or update files

-click it off.

Launcher isn't downloaded but still works :)

Try launching through commander following steps above
