Welcome

*A strange man with long hair stands at the door to a dusty wooden shed, beckoning you.*

Welcome to the museum, Take a look around you'll find everything and anything 501st here. Since the 501st has been re-formed, re-made and re-imagined over and over and over I decided to combine my collection of mercenary memorabilia into one small windowless shack of a museum.

History

*A thick journal lays on a single pedestal at the back of the room, you open it and flick through the pages, it seems to be a complete history of the 501st, paper clippings and torn pages of diaries are abundant throughout, a strange radio frequency plays in the background.*

The Crash

The exact date is unsure but on roughly July the 18th 2013 an C-130J was shot down over Chernarus soil. The survivors where all members of the 501st regiment of the royal Canadian air force travelling to the isolated mountains of Chernarussia to extract a single Russian scientist. The force that shot them down was unknown but was believed to have been Russian, the survivors included Commander Kaleb "Roadie" Parsons, Captain Norman Frieden, Corporal Scott Richtofen, Corporal Alex Thorne, Staff Sergeant Adam Paar and the pilot, Captain John "Ghost" Stark.

First Establishment of the 501st

The surviving members of the crash had no way of communicating with their home nor a way to return so they cut ties with the royal Canadian air force and created a new home. The castle they had crashed in was known as "Altar castle" to the locals, here the survivors became known as the first 501st Airborne, a now independent group from the Canadian air force. They reinforced the castle and opened it up to the civilian survivors of this land and attempted to help them in any way they could.

The Return to Civilization

Months past and Captain John "Ghost" Stark toiled hard to repair the crashed C-130J, meanwhile a small team had set out to find the scientist the had originally been sent to find and where expected to return at any time. A group called the SKA had started minor attacks on Altar in the recent weeks and where becoming a problem, the 501st planned to repair the C-130J, leave for Canada, finish their mission and bring back reinforcements to help the members they would have to leave behind.

With the aircraft repaired, Commander Kaleb "Roadie" Parsons ordered his a small team to return home finish their mission and bring back reinforcements. As they where leaving the SKA launched a surprise attack on the castle, Captain Alex "Voodoo" Carter watched as his Commander and brothers in arms where slaughtered. After delivering the scientist to the closest civilized haven, France, Alex "Voodoo" Carter decided to take charge of the remaining 501st and go back to help anyone still alive instead of returning to Canada for reinforcements.

New Command

As Captain John "Ghost" Stark flew towards their castle home, the left engine cut out due to faulty repairs, He wanted to get them as close to the castle as he could and they crash landed right on top of the castle for a second time. The passengers of the crash fell out of the aircraft, guns raised expecting a fight but the only thing left where corpses and fire. The survivors had fled from the carnage and the castle was in ruins, self appointed Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter took it upon himself to reform a new 501st and rebuild Altar. The surviving members of the firefight, Captain John Henderson and Sergeant Mathew Phillips had fled the castle when they realised all was lost and had managed to protect their lives, they returned soon after to help with the rebuild efforts.

The Altar Era

For many months the 501st held Altar against several local groups, not only where the SKA attacking Altar but now group known as SVR, the Brotherhood and the Al-Takizh had started launching full scale assaults on the castle daily. The 501st met powerful allies during these rough times who's helped they enlisted in the aid of the castles defense, SFOR a small group driven to help survivors would become one of the 501st's closest allies along side the Enclave, a large group that aimed to establish some kind of new world government.

The Fall of Altar

After countless deaths in the name of Altar and the protection of its people the castle and its inhabitants where loosing the fight. The castle had become a place of power and many groups that where once friends with the 501st had become enemies, and where attacking for control of the castle, one of these groups where the former allies, The Enclave. Although the 501st had the SFOR at their side, most members where M.I.A or dead, Corporal Tobias "Hawk" Smith was one brother who fell in combat defending the castle along side countless others, so the 501st had to turn to new allies for help, the likes of which would have never been considered before.

B-17, a group of degenerate escaped Cons would come to the defense of Altar for a short amount of time, right up until the point at which they backstabbed the 501st by sneaking explosive into the castle for a imminent Al-Takizh attack. The 501st turned to yet another unexpected allies, the SVR, former enemies stood next to the 501st in battle against old friends like The Enclave and the UKSF. It was a desperate time indeed and many battles raged on as many lost their lives.

Finally a decision was made. Captain John "Ghost" Stark planted explosives all around the castle and in one final battle the castle was sent out with a bang. Until recently it was though that all members of the 501st and all attackers that day died in the explosion. Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter was one of the missing combatants that day, presumed to have died in the blast, Alex was marked as M.I.A and with that the 501st disbanded yet again.

The Epoch Era

Whilst many believed they died in the explosion at Altar most of the 501st actually escaped in the C-130J they had repaired for such an event. As they had little fuel the remaining survivors where forced to land at a recently discovered island called Napf. Their Commander was not one of the lucky few on board the aircraft and so the 501st went their seperate ways, either into hiding or, as most did, into piracy, with a group called the BTR.

With this new land to explore and the castle of Altar nothing more than a heap of rocks, most groups gave up on their war efforts and focused on creating a home for themselves. One of the groups looking to settle down where a group of independent doctors called the Free Medics, Although the Medics had the protection of their own personal defense squad, known as the FMDS, The Medics still came under constant attack from the lesser bandits of the land. The most hard hitting of the attacks came from a group of brothers known as the JBG.

Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter had come out of hiding at the perfect time, the Free Medics needed help and the 501st would reform to be that help. The Free Medics had built a large structure they called "The Homestead", on the remote side of Pobeda Dam so the 501st decided to reinforce the road and land on the other side of the damn as a first line of defense. Lieutenant Rynder Jagersma Built a large barracks complex for the 501st to house their vehicles and supplies whilst defending pobeda, whilst Captain Novac Exton built two large towers either side of the damn, connected by a bridge. It would later act as a kind of checkpoint for the 501st.

As time passed JBG where eventually dispatched through a combined effort of the 501st and the Brotherhood of Steel. The Free Medics where for the most part safe and the 501st was no longer needed. The 501st packed up their belongings and left their temporary home, disbanding again, but by their own choice this time.

The "False" 501st

Although most members of the 501st went their own way there where a select few who decided they would not disband, this led to the creation of a "false" 501st. This new 501st did not last long, their leader, Captain Norman Frieden, unfortunately went power crazy and declared himself "Overlord" of the 501st. After this the new 501st did not last long as the remaining members of the 501st did not feel comfortable under a dictatorship rather than the diplomacy they where used to, and so this new 501st disappeared as fast as it had appeared.

Voodoo's Decent

After sometime apart the 501st once again regrouped, Prud lake had replaced Pobeda Dam, and Altar castle before it, as the center of civilization and the 501st wanted to be around to help. And so they went about catering to the needs of as many civilians as they could, although a small war broke out between a group called the ISOA during this time, it was still mostly peaceful. The castle was gone but Alter still remained a sacred place to the 501st and even hosted a wedding.

After spending a long amount of time leading the 501st Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter was getting old and tiered, his judgment wasn't as it used to be and he felt members of their allied group, The Watchers where conspiring against him. Brought on by the death of his close friend, Brig. General Kanen "K9" Crisis, Alex staged a desperate attempt to gather proof. With the help of Captain Novac Exton, Staff Sergeant Thomas Cole and Captain Lucas Hicks he kidnapped a simple doctor from The Watchers and tortured him, Staff Sargent Pat Spillane was also pulled into the insanity but he chose not to take part in the madness and was beaten and tortured by his brothers in arms for it. Eventually Alex realized he had gone to far, but not until after Novac had put a bullet in Pat's shoulder and left him for dead, Alex let the doctor go free and did his best to resuscitate his fallen comrade but feared he had failed, he fled, also believing Pat to be dead.

The doctor came back and treated Pats wound, he nursed him back to health and put a gun back in his hand, together they hunted and killed Staff Sargent Thomas Cole and Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter, essentially disbanding Alex's 501st for the final time, knowing they would be hunted by the surviving and loyal members Pat and the doctor went into hiding and most of the 501st, once again, went their separate ways.

Forgive, Forget, Rebuild

A few surviving members of the 501st, mainly Novac Exton and Lucas Hicks, decided to reform the 501st as a civilian organisation based on helping civilians in the same situation as they where, anyone that was alone or helpless was welcome in their new organisation. They called themselves Legacy as they were to be the legacy of their beloved fallen Commander, Alex Carter. The organisation would be based on their three principles, Forgive, Forget, Rebuild. They decided they would no longer focus on combating the evils of the world, but helping those who suffer from them instead.

Operation Steel

Weeks had passed and Novac Exton had been M.I.A for too long, Lucas Hicks took full command of Legacy and promoted himself to Commander, re-branding the group 501st, he then launch an operation to retrain all members of the 501st in combat and arms. The operation was dubbed "Operation Steel". In the meantime the presumed dead Kanen Crisis stepped out of the shadows following the end of an undercover operation, he took his place in 501st and helped to spearhead the operation taking control of combat operations in Novac's absence.

Timeline

*On the very last page of the journal there is a hand drawn timeline, it seems to represent what the author believes to be the "Main events" as well as what he seems to count as "alternative events"*

WLfku92.png

Emblems

*A row of stitched badges are pinned to the left wall, small engraved wooden plaques are pinned underneath each*

Generation I

MKa3Ct7.png

*We do not have much information on how this logo

came about but it is believed to have been the emblem

used by the first 501st members to crash land in Chernarus*

[align=right]Generation II

gFt5NtL.png

*This emblem was created to replace the original emblem whilst

Commander Kaleb "Roadie" Parsons was in charge and later

Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter. The emblem better

represented the Canadian and airborne side of the 501st.*

Generation III

9Yvr1KB.jpg

*Created by Captain John "Ghost" Stark, this new emblem

created a harder look for the 501st, at the time war was raging

all around the 501st and they became a more hardened group for it.

The red backdrop to the emblem marked the transition foreigner to

local for most members of the 501st, taking on a more Russian

approach*

[align=right]Generation III(.5)

w4mjUTl.png

*After the second disbandment of the 501st due to the

current Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter going missing,

Captain Norman Frieden raised himself to the rank of

"Overlord" of his new 501st, changing the emblem

colors back to something closer to it's generation

II predecessor. After his short stint at the top of the

food chain, Norman Frieden quickly realized people

don't like following the commands of an "Overlord" and

thus the 501st disbanded for a third time.*

Generation IV

oToluhR.png

*Commissioned by Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter, Captain

Novac Exton created this emblem to represent a more

professional 501st. This emblem was first use after the

first reform of the 501st when the 501st made their home

at Pobeda Dam protecting the Free Medics and its other

inhabitants.*

[align=right]Generation IV (Legacy)

Nna6tRF.png

*This is the emblem the new 501st Legacy used when they

reformed, they kept the old emblem to stay close to their

history but they only used the torn and burnt badges from

combat to display the struggle and war they fought through.*

Generation V

sczqEzM.png

*The crumbled purple raven represents the freedom we

promote across the population of Chernerus alongside the

knowledge we've gathered from the hardships we've

previously overcome. Finally the crumbled raven represents

how even when we lose our home we are still strong like a

rock and we rebuild from the rubble*

Uniforms

*Mannequins stand in the center of the room facing outwards, each wears a different uniform with its own small wooden plaque at the base.*

Original Uniform

kTKgOxA.png

This uniform was introduced by the original 501st that crashed

into Altar castle, The uniforms where stashed in storage after

the first disbandment and later used by the United Irishmen when

they came across the box of hidden clothes. On the forth regroup

of the 501st the current commander in charge, Alex "Voodoo" Carter

decided to re-use the original uniform and return to the original

look of the 501st.

"War Era" Uniform

9Ab1f05.png

During the times after the attacks on Altar castle, the 501st

regrouped for a second time after the crash, they where beaten

and bruised, missing brothers in arms and lifetime friends in

the rubble. Commander Alex "Voodoo" Carter decided the uniform

should be changed to add more protection to the 501st to protect

them from the constant attack they faced at the time. Later on,

self proclaimed "Overlord" of the 501st, Norman Frieden would

also use this uniform as he wanted a tougher looking 501st than

Chernarus had seen previously.

"Epoch Era" Uniform

OEeiF9w.jpg

During the "Epoch Era" the 501st re-grouped once again in the

defense of the Free Medics of Pobeda Dam, This time they wanted

to come across as a much friendlier group and so, they borrowed

the uniform of the Free Medics at the time and replaced the medics

emblem with their own.

Legacy Uniform

OASN1bW.jpg

After reforming into the civilian version of themselves, known as "Legacy"

the 501st started wearing less armor and uniforms designed more around

comfort and practicality. This uniform kept them warm in the harsh

Cherno-Russian winters but was lighter than their armored, military

counterparts.

Photographs and Video Tapes

*A small wooden box lays on the table in front of you, the word "GHOST" is scribbled on it in marker. When you look inside there seems to be a large amount of photographs, a couple old VHS tapes and a small journal at the bottom of the box.

Next to it a cork board with multiple photographs pinned to it lays slumped up against the wall. the name "Pat Spillane" is neatly scrawled on the back of the board.

A very thick manual lays on the table to the left side of the box, The book is titled "501st Combat Manual" and the authors name is printed as "Rynder Jagersma" Whilst the manual seems like it must have been printed years ago, it's in remarkably good condition. It's almost like no one ever bothered to read it...*

Very good :)

Truth is Alex Carter wasn't in the crash he was already here on a secret mission during the outbreak but he met Roadie.

It later turned out the extraction Voodoo waited for was the 501st and the crash had ultimately left him stranded with the rest of the survivours.

tex was a survivor I think :P

No mention of XM?!

In my opinion weh ad a part to play in the entire fall of Altar.

We were attacking with the SKA multiple times, we also defended Altar at points too.

We were allies, enemies and allies again with 501st and were present on one of the last attacks ever on Altar (defending).

We had meetings with Kanen countless times too, about certain things.

Looking good so far, Novac!
