Staff faction objectives, resources and status

Recommended Posts

Tomeran    3

This thread is dedicated to describing the current status of the various staff factions. Its also meant to be describing how they operate and what kind of resources, vehicles and assets they use.

Since we've started to use the staff factions in more frequent events, I figured this thread could help offer some clarity on otherwise confusing assets, as well as additional information about the factions themselves and how they generally behave.

This thread can be read as IC information, either through intel provided by the CTC and UEF, or "stories" told between survivors.

It will be updated when necessary, including updates to the vehicle asset lists when the factions loose(or gain) new vehicles.

(at this point this primarily applies to the CTC and UEF factions.)

If you want a more significant background to the factions, you can read this here:

http://www.dayzrp.com/t-staff-factions

The UEF - Utes Expeditionary Force

Goals, objectives and activities

The UEF are essentially "good guys". They're mostly american soldiers(but also have soldiers from other nationalities) that operate to ensure the safety for the Utes colony. That's their chief priority, and so far that has involved trying to establish friendly relations with most of South Zagoria.

They often do patrols around South Zagoria as they see the region as a sort of "buffer zone" to ensure the safety of Utes. On occassion, they also do trade missions to ensure they get vital supplies. Since the UEF met the CTC, they dont tend to do these missions as often. But during these patrols, they have been known to assist local survivors against infected.

Due to their lack of more "common" supplies(food, meds, spare parts, fuel), they rarely give these out.

The UEF has a strong relationship with the CTC and are fairly dependant on them for supply delivaries. So far the UEF's significant arsenal of bullets and weapons has been enough to procure enough food, fuel and spare parts for the UEF to thrive on Utes.

Appearance

Most UEF soldiers use american soldier outfits. This also includes american pilot outfits and vehicle crew outfits. There are exceptions, especielly from its few french and british members, but UEF soldiers are most often fairly easy to separate from the other factions.

((Primarily american soldier skins from the donation exhange. ))

Current status Weakened

With the council conflict now being over, the UEF is essentially "at peace" with the vast majority of groups and other factions.

Regardless, the council conflict and especielly the invasion of Napf drained the UEF of the majority of its ground vehicles, helicopters and aircraft. Only a fraction of the UEF strength remains, and right now the UEF is focusing on trying to recover, something they're likely to be busy with for quite the while.

Known hardware and resources

The UEF has mostly western hardware. Although their arsenal used to be huge, it has been greatly weakened after the council conflict. The UEF still has enough assets however to defend Utes island, especielly from the local bandit groups that would seek to pray on the relativly prosperous survivor colony.

Examples of common UEF vehicles:

- A-10 Warthog (Two, one badly damaged)

- UH-60 Black Hawk (One)

- UH-60S Sea Hawk (One, badly damaged.)

- UH-1Y Venom Huey (One)

- MV-22 Osprey (Two, one badly damaged)

- AH64-D Apache (One, badly damaged)

- Merlin HC3 (Two, one badly damaged)

- C130J Hercules (Two aircraft, only one currently operable)

- AV8B Harrier (Two. Can be rearmed to AV8B's with LGB bombs.)

- Humvees with various armaments (A dozen, half of them damaged)

- MTVR trucks (8 trucks, half in need of repairs. )

- M1A1 Abrams (one operationable. One more in dire need of significant repairs. )

- LAV-25 (3, one of them damaged.)

- F-35 Lightning (One, currently badly damaged and inoperable. )

- CH-47 Chinook (Two, one damaged)

- RHIB boats (Three, one badly damaged)

- CRRC boats (Four, two damaged.)

- Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer (One, the USS Dauntless. Badly damaged and very low on ammo, but still operable. )

- MQ-9 Predator drone (one. In reasonably good shape. )

Ontop of this impressive list of hardware, the UEF also has a very impressive list of armaments. It had a huge armory and lots of supplies in terms of weapons, maintenance equipment, ammunition and ordnance. The only vehicle in the UEF's arsenal currently not well-stocked in ammo is the destroyer, which has a limited supply of missiles, shells and shots.

It is primarily this hardware, rather then the UEF's relativly limited number of a few hundred men and women, that has permitted them to become such a major power in the region. Fortunetly for most survivors, they've largely been benevolent in how they display that power. So far, at least.

Despite the Napf invasion draining tons of guns and ammo, the UEF has a notable amount of its arsenal left. Its vehicle arsenal however is down to less then 50% of what it used to be prior to the council conflict.

CTC - Chernarus Trading Coalition

Goals, objectives and activities

The CTC are "traders", as the name might hint, but they have grown far beyond that mere term. They're a power in the same sense the venetian republic was a power in europe in the 15th and 16th centuries.

They're among the most powerful factions in Chernarus in terms of population, wealth, influence and manpower, and they seem to have an expansionist policy, at least towards the rest of Chernarus.

Starting out in the capitol province, the CTC has now expanded to every province, South Zagoria and Napf being the most recent expansions.

They establish colonies, trade hubs and villages, and rely on their large mobile guard forces, more a militia army, for protection.

Fortuntly, the CTC are generally quite friendly, and try to build positive relations with most survivors they come across. Only people that repetadly attack the CTC are met with aggression, and the significant power of the faction has resulted in the utter annihilation of most of their enemies.

The longterm goal of CTC seems to be expansion, consolidation, survival and wealth.

They recently expanded into South Zagoria and established the Trade Post. Ever since, the CTC seems to have had problems as they have overextended their resources.

The council conflict has notably drained CTC strength, even to the point where the CTC has had to call in manpower away from the zagorian Trade post to accomodate for the larger settlements security need elsewhere.

Much of the CTC's former strength in armor and air power has been destroyed, and there are rumours of ongoing unrest in the CTC settlements as a result of the huge casualties.

Appearance:

Unlike most other factions, the CTC is more "ragtag", as it has no one standard uniform for its armed forces. Instead, as a militia, the CTC forces can come in various shapes and appearances. Most commonly however, there's a few joint features with camo pants, some sort of hat and a camo jacket.

((Sometimes using the rebel and insurgent skins, but the staff "CTC skin" can be considered standard and the one used most often. ))

Current status Weakened

The prolonged conflict with the council took its toll both on CTC manpower and vehicles.

The CTC lost three times more people then the UEF to council ambushes, and only the survivors of south zagoria can rival the number of losses sustained in the conflict.

Dozens of light vehicles such as cars and trucks were lost, and most of the CTC's armor was also destroyed in the mainland engagements.

The invasion of Napf drained the CTC's reserves of ammo and gun stockpiles, and the faction may be at its most dire state since its formation. There's talk of ongoing unrest in several CTC settlements.

Known hardware and resources

The CTC is perhaps the faction that can field the least advanced equipment.

The CTC is almost completly reliant on what they can scavenge, repair and trade. This has left them reliant on luck and other people, to a degree, for their "arsenal".

They have moderate amounts of small arms and ammunition and lots of cars and trucks, but few armored units, helicopters and airplanes.

This is particurly true after the council conflict.

Known CTC vehicles:

- Pickups (Roughly 20, of whom about 10 are armed.)

- Various civilian cars and motorcycles (Between 50-60. )

- Trucks (About 15-20. )

- BM-21 Grad (2 trucks, one damaged.)

- UAZs (About a dozen. )

- Ural-ZU 23 (Three, one damaged.)

- T34 (2 tanks. Ancient russian tanks, in poor condition. Currently not on the Zagorian frontier. Kept as reserves.)

- T55 (2 tanks. Old russian tanks, in poor condition. Currently not on the zagorian frontier. Kept as reserves.)

- T72 (Two, both are badly damaged. The only T72s the faction has left, both in South Zagoria and barely in operable condition.)

- BRDM2 (Six of them left. The CTC's "light armor" sometimes used against bandits. Two damaged )

- BMP2 (2 left, one damaged.)

- AN2 airplane (3, one badly damaged.)

- L39-ZA (One. In horrible condition. Never been used.)

- MI-8 (4. The most used CTC helicopter. Used for transport and passanger services. One in dire need of repairs)

- Mi-17 (Two. Support helicopters only ever used against entrenched bandits. )

- UH-1H Huey (One. Rarely sees use.)

- Humvees (Two. Unarmed humvees traded from the UEF. )

- MTVR trucks (Two. Trucks traded from the UEF.)

- BTR40 (Four. Old Halftracks primarily used to transport troops in dangerous areas. One damaged)

- Mi-24 (One left, badly damaged.)

- Tunguska (One. Codenamned Tanya. By far the best CTC anti-air asset. In unusually good condition, but ammo is scarce. )

While the CTC appears to have a lot of vehicles at their disposal, they almost completly lack reliable heavy armor and air support, and mostly rely on "motorized" infantry to do the job for them. Most of these more valuable vehicle assets are only deployed when the CTC truly run into stiff opposition, which only happens rarely.

They're constantly trying to upgrade their hardware however, as they realize their armed forces are technologicly inferior against some of the other factions.

Recent losses has almost completly depleted the CTC's best heavy armor arsenal, with only two T72 tanks remaining. They have reserves of a few older T55s and T34's, but they're all in bad condition and fairly low quality.

AFR- Armed Forces of Russia

*staff faction not yet properly introduced. More information to follow once that has happened.*

Is there an estimate of the money spent on these vehicles?

Well..

If a Handul is 5

Very few is 2

And a dozen is 12..

1 A-10 is 11.8 Million, 1 Black hawk 21.3 million, UH-1Y 26.2 million, AAVP7AI (Can't find I'll say something like 1 million), Osprey 69.3 million, Apache 18 million, AH-1Z 27 million, Merlin 21 million, C-130J 48.5 million, Harrier 24 Million, Armed Humvee 140,000, Unarmed 65,000, MTVR $191,107, M1A1 Abrams 8.58 million, LAV-25 $900,000, F35 153.1 million, Chinook 38.55 million, (I'm skipping the boats), Destroyer 1,843 Million, Drone 16.9 million.

The prices are only for one unit. I'm just gonna calculate the real price, BRB.

11800000 × 5 + 21300000 × 5 + 26200000 × 6 + 1000000 × 2 = 324700000 + 69300000 × 5 + 18000000 × 5 + 27000000 × 2 + 21000000 × 2 = 857200000 + 48500000 × 2 + 24000000 × 2 + 140000 × 12 + 65000 × 12 = 1004660000 + 191107 × 14 + 8580000 + 900000 × 6 + 153100000 = 1174415498 + 38500000 × 2 + 1843000000 + 16900000 = 3111315498

So the UEF has 3111315498 $ worth of equipment.

Lovely stuff Tomeran. Really brings the world to life beyond Chernarus's borders! If you need any help, brainstorming, etc. I would love to aid you, my friend. Or if you need a grunt or something at an event, you know who to call.

Can't wait for the employer to hear about a certain utes force with a need for medicine and drugs ;)
