Damage is defined by the bullet not the gun.

so yes it should do 8000 i believe unless it has been coded differently but im sure iv 2 shotted people with it in a different mod so 8000 sounds about right.

And the reason you cant use DMR mags in it is because although the bullets may be the same the magazine design may not necessarily fit the gun.

Although in reality you could empty the bullets out and put them into a magazine that would fit but arma2 isnt complex enough to allow that.

From what iv seen this can be done in standalone though

8000 damage, it's pretty much a FAL with a sight

Except the MK17 handles twice as good as a FN-FAL.

I love the MK17, one of the best weapons in the game.

The MK17 is automatic as well is it not?

Where as the FN-FAL is semi and burst only

I think id prefer the FAL over MK17.

But that depends on the situation. The FAL makes a really good DMR. It has superb accuracy at medium range and good damage.

With the MK17, id normally use that to incapacitate vehicles and scare people by suppressing them.

So its dependent on the situation.

The FAL's iron sights are my favorite though. As good as the MK17 is a FAL to me is better. FAL just feels better and more powerful when i use it. I dunno if its just me but thats my opinion.

Shame it only comes with dessert camo though :(

No matter where you hit someone with a MK17, it passes them out with one bullet, tested it on Overwatch, neck shots 1 shot, and it takes 2 shots wherever hit to kill.
