A real looking environment

Please find in the link something I edited myself.

I didnt want to place it in the settlement part coz well its not and I just thought I would see what everyone thought.

As this game we all love and play is set in a end of the world type style thing. Why does it not look or feel like it is (apart from the zombies).

So I took it upon myself after seeing the new island in dayz origins to try and make cherno looks a little bit more lived in and weathered.

I dont know what it would do to the fps of players but when I was testing it seemed to run fine seeing as it is just plants and a few more objects nothing crazy.

tell me what you think and if we should have something like this in the game.

Tho this did take over 3 hours to do one road and make it look real good i think every city would either kill me or drive me insane doing them

thank you

File not found!

If you're looking for an image, then it's probably been deleted or may not have existed at all. Bummer!

If you're in the need for some funny or interesting images then you might have a good time browsing through the Gallery.

I get this message when trying to access the link.

I think it looks really cool! As you said though it would take years to implement on most roads.

Holy crap. That is some good god damn work, man - I say this very rarely but it's very impressive. I'm not sure what exactly causes the effect, but it just looks so much more realistic than the standard DayZ rubble and roadblocks.

Can you explain the things you added etc. to make it give off this great atmosphere? Perhaps you can get this approved as a project by the management and then collaborate with more mappers to improve at least most of the bigger, more active cities, if not the entire map. This would really be worth it I think.

Edit: Ah, I think it's the vegetation that helps give off this better vibe. It feels like a real city after a few years of apocalypse, nature taking the city back. Looks really great!

Think there would be a decent looking way to also make the buildings looks like trees grow through them etc??? That would be so amazing.

I concur. The grass on the roads, the supply crates, the robble of buildings...just fit so well together.

Those plants are quite lowpoly and their texture resolution is not high so I don't think they will drop fps much. Looks neat, adds that something that current map is missing

I really like it but as you said, it would probably create a FPS drop for many players(me included).

But i could see it working if the amount of "old junk"(wrecks, roadblocks etc.) of dayz would be reduced.

But otherwise, i would love to see this in-game and would provide help as well as far as i can.

+1 as long as it dosent affect FPS I would want DayZRP servers to look more like this.

I think that if all existing rubble was cleared and "reset" and "rearanged" in this fashion, the map would look alot better. The rubble would still be somewhat equaly distributed and besides, grass doesn't render in untill you're very close so FPS shouldn't be seeing to high of a drop.

But let's fix up the bugs first :P

That's amazing!

Hope this gets added.

I don't really see an increase in lag with these small objects.
