You have to buy Arma 2 CO to play dayz or DayzRP. DayzRP itself is just a mod for the main game.

You can get ARMA 2 Free (It's like a really basic version of ARMA 2, textures are worse and it's only multiplayer) and ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead. At least, I heard that works.
