1.8 traps

Recommended Posts

As most people know, traps will be implemented into DayZ 1.8.

They will most likely hurt you or break your legs. My question is, Will these traps Count as an Attempted KOS/RDM or will this work as an initation Tools ( Removing the lethality of the traps, breaking the legs as said?) And lets you run up to the person and engage a hostile action?

IMO traps would be awesome to work like that.

That is a very good question Sir. I can´t answer this. But i really want to read some opinions on that. And i agree, if they would work like you suggested, this would be awesome!

That would be great Except that people might spam traps everywhere, and if they aren't online when someone steps on the trap then i think that's pretty dodgy

I don't see them as KoS or RDM...

Ofcourse, some rules regarding these need to be thought of...

If the traps from 1.8 are added to RP, I would like to see them as some sort of initiation tool as Wade mentioned, although I don't really think anyone has thought about it yet.

Yeah, as said people could spam them, but maybe a limit of traps set would be in Place? Maybe we should move this to General Discussion as it should be discussed to a degree where they would fit with the rules or we come up with a solution that would allow the use of these traps while fitting with the rest of the rules.
