Hi! I'm a new player on the DayZRP community, in the hours i've spend on playing on the server i noticed something that is irritating me.

Personally i think the damage clothing gets when being hit by a infected goes to fast, when you get hit a couple of times your clothing is badly damaged in no-time.
The biggest problem i have with it is that after finding all the clothing that fits with my character it can be gone in seconds when trying to fight a infected of with a melee weapon, and if you have bad luck its damaged beyond the point to repair it.
If its possible i would like to lower the amount of damage clothing gets when being hit by an infected or make the spawnrate on duck tape and sewing kits higher.
When this could be done we can spend more time on RP and less time on finding the clothing we need for the character or items to repair it.

Thanks for reading!

(EDIT #1: Changed "DayZ community" to DayZRP community")
(EDIT #2: Added a poll answer "Increase spawnrate on duck tape and sewing kits")
(EDIT #3: Added poll answers "Increase spawnrate duck tape only" and "Increase spawnrate sewing kits only")
(EDIT #5: Refresh 19-05)

I have noticed it seems like it degrades faster since the 1.12 update. Does anyone know if this is the intended with the update

Ok so, I'm sure @Whitename can correct me on this. But with the recent changes to how zombies are affected by melee weapons it's not that clothes are getting damaged more quickly it's that you're getting hit far more often than you used to, where before 1.12 you might get hit once or twice from a single infected has now gone up to 3-6 hits per infected. That in itself causes your clothing to get damaged more quickly thus giving a placebo effect that clothes just aren't as durable when they're durability didn't change. Just how much you're hit.

I wouldn't mind honestly seeing the durability of clothing items upped or an increased spawn rate of sewing kits and general repair items for clothing. So I'll give a +1

Please! Non-balistic vests and clothes get torn up way too easily. Please increase thier durability.

I voted no.

The changes to Melee weapon damage and to the infected not being stun locked as easy means charging in with an axe/shovel/pickaxe/brass knuckles/knife isn't going to be effective as it was.

Stealth, Suppressed weapons and avoidance is generally the easiest way to keep yourself healthy and your clothing driptastic. Is it annoying? Yes. But the developers wanted to infected to be a challenge going forward rather than the RNG loot pinata's they were.

Taffinator put it well. BI intends for the infected to be a challenge. Rather than the boring way of buffing health pools and shit they’ve made them more annoying to deal with as they can’t be easily stunlocked anymore.

Put simply: just don’t get hit

Then maybe option 2? Keep the damage on clothing as is and increase the spawnrate of sewing kits and ducktape?
You'll keep the challenge of the infected but it becomes a little easier to repair the clothes you need/want to have for your character.

No, it actually makes it so that we have a use for Sewing Kits and Duct tape.

At first I were not intrigued. But I have now used the same clothes for 2 days and it is all still prestine. If you use your gun, they are not any issue at all.

-1 from me as well

As i want to be cooler with my clorhing i understand that the game update choose to make the infected a treath and a real challenge

I think the devs could increase a little the spawn of sewing kit qould help a little, but not too much increase, but not lowering the damage we get from them

I think the only increase should be for the sewing kit types, ductapes can be used for other items than clothing.

Clothing deterioration is fine. Just be sneaky until you manage to arm yourself with a gun and a silencer or practice trapping infected inside buildings to get rid of them easy.

+1 from me, I gets tiresome having your clothes knocked into damaged states by one or two swings from an infected, or other damage sources.

The infected do seem to tear through clothing like concertina wire instead of ... well ... zombies.
Lenny needs to remain a sharp-dressed man as long as possible.

+1 Would love to see an increase in sewing kits and duct tape on the server. I’ve been finding my clothes getting torn to shreds lately and having to use up my sewing kits.

Sewing kits and duct tape seem to be quite rare, kind of like it that way too. I think upping the spawn rate wouldn't really fix how annoying it is to repair clothing constantly and would only hurt the spawning of different clothing loot.
