food needs to be easier to find.

i am new so maybe i am wrong but ive played for 2 days so far and i havent seen a soul and i keep starving to death because you may find 1 piece of food in every city. maybe i am just unlucky but just now i decided to give up.. i mean food is way too hard to get.

I can see this. I have yet to find a single piece of food since I've been on, cans and stuff in houses that is. I've found a grand total of 3 mushrooms, though I don't think the mushroom levels have been affected in the recent updates. 

I might just be trippin', but it definitely seems that way, I'm damn near constantly starving if not actually dying.

I want to say most of the food I’ve found has been on infected.  Gotta find a good melee weapon and just go to town one at a time.  I got lucky after the wipe and found a sledgehammer almost immediately, found a couple of the smaller cans and a jar of jam.  And then chickens and fruit from trees.

Have you tried looking for fruit and other foragables like mushrooms? Chickens are easy to catch and prepare with a fireplace and a long stick. Big animals are a go to though. Shoot yourself a deer, cow, goat or pig, then dry the meat in a house with a fireplace. Canned food and non-perishables have (finally) become scarse and should not be considered as a main source of food. 

At what times do you play? Check the main page on the website, there's an online player counter there, to get an indication on server activity. Also, check the radio message page on the forums, it might get you in contact with people. Or hang around in the "Looking for Group" channel on the discord server and with a little patience, someone will join the channel.

If you find a shovel and seeds.... you can make a garden in one of the greenhouses.

Look for animals to shoot, go fishing, grow food with shovel and seeds like @Bunnie suggested. There is a plethora of ways to get food i've never really had an issue with it since the wipe.

Food is ridiculously easy to find, whenever  just by running through fruit trees, to finding them on the infected.

Just hunting alone I have been able to fill a 600 slot truck with food as soon as soon as its been emptied its filled again. Killing Infected is another way to get food like others have said

Take that money to the civi trader and get some canned food

Food is quite cheap if you're near civilian trader maybe spend some time getting food there before heading north? Also could be worth chatting to some groups, some groups will assist you if you need basics like food and water.

Also, to tag onto @General Ricketspost above - buy Canned bacon. It is the most filling of all the Canned Food available at the Civilian trader.

Yeah tbh food is a bit scarce in my opinion. I do believe the spawns need to be increased or increase wildlife such as goats or cows at least.
