having a real hard time. setting everything up to join.

so i am running into so many things that halt me from playing.   1. i joined and my character model and name reset itself. so i get kicked for not having a name linked to a character but then i get into the issue of. changing my character. but i cant because i already joined the server once. i also can not modify my character to look as i imagine because i can not see the character in the character creation... i have no clue what to do. i could use some help since i have no clue what i am doing.

You should set your In game name in your parameters (weather that be DAYZSALAUNCHER or the standard launcher) to what it would be in game, I.E 'Anthony Joshua', 'David Speirs' etc to do this follow these screenshots;

>Load Up your launcher (any of them)

    >If using dayzsalauncher, press this

Then you should get this menu, put your character name into that (it most be letter by letter including capitals to what your character name is on the forums)

Load in game and you should be done!

 

For using the standard Dayz follow this:

>Launch dayz from steam, Select parameters and put your 'in game name' to what your character name is on the forums

parameters? i dont quite understand. sorry i am just not that much of a settings person. i can play but as soon as i have to set things up specifically i am always mindblown... is there by any chance a video that shows what to do?

Hop into room 4 in the discord, ill screenshare and try help ya, if you cant then on the normal dayz launcher you can select 'Parameters' which is under the news part of the launcher, or just follow the screenshots i have already provided in the spoilers
