Svobodný [Selective IC/OOC Recruitment]

Yurij was a simple child growing up, never too ambitious and motivated about anything in his life. However, his big brother, Damek, changed that. He showed him that his life should have some sort of purpose, some sort of goal... His brother was a big nationalist. Even as a kid he dreamed of a free Chernarus, dreamed of lands where there aren’t any Russians or RAC supporters around. He wanted Yurij to have that same dream. Yurij’s parents however never really cared about him, thought of him more as a burden or as a mistake that they made. But Damek thought of him differently, he always cared and listened to what his brother had to say. They played with sticks, pretended to be soldiers... One day they promised themselves that they’ll free Chernarus together. A dream... That was soon about to be cut short. His family separated Yurij from his brother and put him up for adoption. He was eventually adopted into a more healthy and caring family, but he would never forget what his previous mother and father did to him for the rest of his life... Time passed and he was now 18. He began reading more and more about the ongoing constant fighting in Ukraine. Russians invading an innocent country because of their own agendas and ideals. It reminded him of Chernarus and what he could’ve done if was old enough to serve during the Civil War. He made a decision... He packed his stuff, said his goodbyes to his family and friends and traveled to Ukraine to join a battalion made of volunteers who were willing to fight off the Russian invaders.

After his military service Yurij began organizing protests, riots, everything that could destabilize the government. He was however arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison. After 2 months, he managed to escape the prison he was in and was now on the run. He traveled all across Chernarus until one day he traveled to South Zagoria. There, he went to a small town named “Pulkovo” and spent the night there. In the morning he saw multiple people running around the town... He panicked and acted on instinct, Yurij managed to take one of them hostage but was quickly apprehended and sent for interrogation. During his interrogation, a familiar person stepped into the room... It was his brother. After so many years the two brothers were reunited. Damek, shocked that his little brother was still alive after all these years invited him to join their cause, the Chernarus Liberation Front. How could he refuse? Without hesitation, Yurij agreed.

After Yurji joined their ranks, he would quickly come to realize how splintered the CLF had become, with certain internal factions defying outright orders of prohibited torture and killing of any foreigners. This in turn would cause Yurij to defy the orders of this extremist faction. He quickly began realizing what kind of things these people did... He slowly started to regret joining their cause. Order after order was given for him along with his bratri to search for foreigners and “traitors” who were against their ideals. He tried multiple times to speak with his brother, try to make them see that what they were doing was wrong and wasn’t going achieve anything... His brother, completely corrupted with extremist thoughts refused to listen to him. After a month into his service, the final order that was given made him lose hope completely. The Liberation Front was now supposed to ruin this new made Coalition between survivors. Him, Oleg, Roman and Shelbi were sent to Green Mountain to give out the first demands towards Spero. Alexei, one of the leaders of Spero, refused to give in and declared war on the Liberation Front. Yurij seeing that all hope for the Liberation Front was lost and all the leaders had now become corrupted, decided to betray the cause and fight against the Liberation Front. More and more soldiers from the CLF followed in their steps and denounced everything that the CLF was doing.

Days after their defection, Yurij made contact with one of his previous commanding officers, Krystof. He informed Yurij that current Major of the CLF had began seeing what CLF were becoming and wanted to put a stop to it. Yurij and Krystof both met inside Pulkovo to organize the attack... This was going to be the longest day of their lives. The plan was simple, Boris Stepanov the current Major of the CLF would relay information to Krystof, and he would relay that information back to Yurij. After a wild chase of the 2 forces, the traitors of CLF were cornered into the Vybor Military Compound. Yurij, desperate for some of peaceful solution to all of this tried to get them surrender peacefully. The first shot was fired and all hell broke loose. In end many good soldiers had lost their lives and many were laying dead in the fields. 

 

After the burial of his bratri and his brother. Yurij sat down and looked around. He was confused on what to do next... He still wanted to achieve that dream both him and Damek had when they were children but everything he had done to this point, had taken a big toll on him. Some of his men approached him. They gave his brother’s beret to him and asked him to lead them, they believed that he could do what the CLF couldn’t, rebuild a society where foreigners and Chernarussians alike could live together in peace. Yurij was still hesitant however. After some time, he was contacted again by an officer of the remaining CLF forces, it was Krystof. He asked Yurij if he could use the radio tower in Green Mountain, so he can make one final broadcast towards the people of South Zagoria. Yurij agreed and took him there. After a long speech, Krystof released the PTT and looked at Yurij. He explained that this in the end for the Liberation Front and that it should be put to rest. After a short argument, Yurij accepted but was still heavily disappointed that CLF wouldn’t have a chance to repair their reputation and everything they stood for... Krystof looked sad, but then gave Yurij a determined pat on the back and said: “Yurij, these men look up to you... They want you to lead them into a better future.” After the conversation, the two soldiers exchanged a salute and parted ways. In the next days Yurij received a radio message that some remnants of the CDF needed some help to fend off a bunch Russians and RAC fighters in Miroslavl. He took some of his men and left for Miroslavl.

 

The men traveled for a couple of days before they finally reached Miroslavl. The whole city was in chaos... RAC soldiers trying to bring some kind of order, bandits roaming the streets... Yurij and Oleg made contact with the men who sent them the radio broadcast. They were a bunch of unorganized fighters who were seeking to bring some kind of justice and order through murder, torture and brutality. Yurij gathered all the men and began telling them his story. He explained that people like them, who had hunger and thirst for righteousness had fallen and had failed. Yurij had a different dream however, he wanted to see a more liberal version of Chernarus. A place where people are judged equally, no matter of their nationality or ethnicity. He explained to the men that they should focus onto rebuilding some sort of society, rather than fight an endless battle with the RAC and the RF. He wanted these men to spread their ideas through peaceful and less violent ways. The men, listening to the stories of this young soldier and what he had experienced, were inspired and decided to follow him back to South Zagoria. After 3 days, Yurij returned with triple the manpower he had left with... And two missing fingers.

 

After his return to South Zagoria. Yurij immediately began organizing some sort of plan for the future. He wanted to unite the people into fighting alongside each other for one common cause, survival. He stopped caring that much about politics and old beliefs but despite that, he and his men still wore some of the uniforms of the CDF or their past organizations out of respect towards them. He wanted to help the people who were just simply trying to get through this epidemic. Food, weapons, ammunition... He was willing to give everything to these people, so they can survive and defend themselves. He wanted to create some sort of militia. A militia that's willing to give their lives for the people of South Zagoria and fight for those who can't protect themselves.

* Commit to protecting those who has come out in support for our cause, and answer their aid whether it be militaristic, or supplies.

* Make sure to distance ourselves with the CLF, making sure that people understand that we're not nationalists, but patriots.

* Figure out who they work for.

* Figure out why they're here.

* If a threat to the common people - Exterminate.

-Set up a Medical Center in Chernogorsk [Day 360]

* Help set up the Chernogorsk hospital for any group of medics who may wish to inhabit it.

* Make sure that all Chernarussians and foreigners alike will be welcomed and be given the best possible treatment within the medical center.

-Recruit fellow Chernarussians and foreigners into our ranks [7/10] [Day 360]

* Send out a radio broadcast that any and all people may sign up for the Svobodný, if they're a fit for this line of work.

- Offer all major groups within South Zagoria a place to live within the established safezone [1/7] [Day 370]

* Send out diplomats to meet the major groups for a talk.

 

-Provide a more different style of Patriotic RP on the server.

* Give a more welcoming experience to Foreigners from a Chernarussian patriotic group.

-Create a balance of passive and hostile RP on the server.

* Continue to maintain the will to work with everyone, as long as they aren't a threat to others or ourselves IC.

* Continue to enforce our "no robbing / raiding" of common people or friendly groups.

* Be willing to punish those who goes against us IC.

-Provide a group that people can build stories around for character development

* Emphasise on peoples personal stories, whether it be internal or external.

* Gladly work together with people on an OOC level if they wish to set up a certain scenario.

- Recruit more whitenames to the group to grow our zerg.

It is always great when groups are created through IC events, naturally. Gives the RP a lot of weight and depth.

While it is unfortunate that you decided to brush off every bit of input you got from hofer and me regarding the thread, I know you guys are very capable RPers and will do the idea justice ingame... and if what happens on the server is good, the pittiful forums dont matter, anyway

Thank you for the good lucks from both of you homies. 

I gave Sheepy a chance to rewrite the lore, but then he proceeded to write 6 paragraphs of CLF history and how great they were before their destruction.

Finally after 6 paragraphs of unneeded information my character finally got mentioned. I'm sorry but the other option was basically the same but just simply glorified the CLF and added nothing new to it.

I think being supportive of new groups that appear on the server instead of lowkey flaimebaiting them would be the best route to go. It may have been better to word it slightly different.
All in all their RP has been 10/10 from what I have seen already. Let their RP and storylines speak for themselves rather than some random ass words that no one really cares about at the end of the day.

Shouldn't have shrugged off what I said and ignored my last few suggestions in our DMs then.

A group lore should be unique and written by those who are creating the group, not the group you took inspiration from.

Not to mention the powergaming in the ending section of your "group lore".
