Wings of Mercy (10/01 - 24/01)

In the midst of the Frenzied Flu, the world suffered great loss and destruction in its wake, but what cannot be destroyed easily is humanity's will to fight on even in the darkest of times, it is in their nature to fight to survive and help their peers overcome challenges and so forth.
Italy is one of the countries standing strong against this disaster, establishing the largest treatment facility within Italy’s territory and housing the many harmed by this chaotic Flu.

Summary

North of the border, a distress signal reaches the many frequencies, a call for help, a model C-130 Transport plane named “Angel-2”, transporting a group of ill and wounded patients towards this Facility in Italy reported both engines failing and gliding down towards the closest place to land, Chernarus.
Making an Emergency Crash, the plane found itself crash landing onto Krasnostav Airfield, and will need help before it is too late and it’s passengers end in a darker situation than they were before. It is up to the survivors of Chernarus to lend humanitarian aid in helping supply the Plane, it’s passengers and ensure their immediate protection until C-130 “Angel-2” can take off and return to Italy.

Stage 4 : Execute Repairs

After suffering defeat against the PMC, the wounded Captain Robert Valentin and his crew now have to fix up the APU and two of the four engines using parts from another plane. If they can do so, their chances to get off Chernarus increase.

Location: NE Airfield, Krasnostav

Event Tasks :

- Ensure Angel-2's repairs are safely completed and the Airship is safely taken off Chernarus. 

- Aid the crewmembers of Angel-2 in resupplying and defending from threats. 

- Supplies needed to aid in fixing the plane are still present around Chernarus, get the requests from the crew of Angel-2 and transport them back to the plane. 

- Unknown eyes stalk in the shadows, make sure this threat does not harm the Plane. 

Story

January 9th, 2021.

"Final checks done, ready for takeoff, once we are in the air, the route should be easy enough to get us to Italy in less than 3 hours. With doctors on board and two engineers, we should be safe from harm, once we have these people in the hands of the other prepared doctors, next job will take us to Sweden..." - Robert. 

January 10th, 2021

"At 9000m Altitude, our four main engines mysteriously and unexplainably got damaged, smoke everywhere in a matter of seconds, our emergency systems kicked in and we were losing altitude in a glide. We had to initiate an emergency landing in the region of South Zegoria, my copilot attempted to make contact with the Regional Authorities but we got no connections through, so we started sending distress signals over multiple frequencies...  After the landing, all passengers were safe, a few bangs and bruises but none were in danger, as the door opened, I was welcomed by a large group of sick infected with the very Flu that started this chaos, without hesitation, and to protect my crew and precious cargo, I started firing back. I was eventually assisted by a group of Survivors, unaffected by this illness, they asked me who I am, of course I identified myself and my crew, started asking me about some "POV", I don't know who those people are, but they mean trouble. I got a small history regarding the land and it's happenings, but I established a plan, get settled and repair the engines.

First things first... I need to fix the radio on board." - Robert

11 January 2021

"The next morning we were met my a man then a group of four. Their leader, Hector, brought four bags full of food and supplies for least two days with proper rationing, according to a note left, a Jerry can of water was left but we could not find it, perhaps someone took it, anyway. General check of the area, we discovered a radio tower, a radar dish and an Air Traffic Control tower that we can wire it together and boot a strong radio frequency, perhaps with it we can signal out to command in Italy to let Angel-1 and 3 that we are down. 

Deciding to go on a scout, I hopped into the car with Hector's cousin, Antonio, Alesi and a the same man that came at our camp, I remember it was Jack. 

On the road, we headed to an airfield, Balota, I salvaged wires, connectors and come cables to use in David's engineering magic, from there we headed on up North, where I found out while we drove that POV are a shady group which experiment on people, this is bad news for me and my passengers, also the presence of three infected individuals which act like unaffected ones, then turn. Absolutely scary to also find out about this Namalsk that got our attention a few weeks back. 

Eventually we reached Vybor, a military base where we picked up two field transmitter devices, then went on, tagging two civilian airliners and another 130 Model in the snow on the edge of another Airfield, the biggest. Along with fuel tanks and a hell lot of square miles of possible tools and spare parts. 

We will plan a "raid" to strip down this 130 and take it to Angel-2, hope this night inside this little donor will be kind with me, next day I got to get back to camp and plan our next move."

12 January 2021

"Today we started testing what we got still intact, but out main concern was the Auxiliary Power Unit, the APU. Around 20 seconds it broke down and oil leaked, this forced an emergency stop and without a doubt, woke the infected neighbors stalking in the foggy Blizzard, with the help of Hector and a few friends, they hold them off while the crew fixed the leakage with some duct tape, we will need Speed Tape if we are to really hold it in place. 

That wasn't all as i hear reports of shots aimed down at them, an assassin sent to stop the planes repairs almost took my crews heads off while gathering information for our backup plan, Hector investigated and found the suspicions were right. Someone was onto us. 

With a chopper inbound, we can work something out to speed our efforts and get Angel-2 back up, while that is set in stone, I want to call home... Let them know we need help, if I remember right, we do have some friends in Livonia... Wonder if they will hear us when we call home."

"With the APU down to shit, we got a sunshine of hope as six survivors came to help, medically trained ones. A heavy weight got lifted off my shoulder when they picked up a good number of passengers, we still have some that can't walk but we will solve that part...

Radio chatter was dead, nobody came with any car or aid... so we started checking the engines only to discover lead and iron particles inside the fuel, and last time we refueled and did maintenance was in Livonia, now I wonder, if this... Defense Force secured the fuel, how did it get tempered? Was it related to the sniper for a day before? We don't know... Me and Wolf Payer traveled to the tower North-West from Angel-2 and decided to go with the broadcast, 20 seconds, a whole battery drained just to send it, we hooked the battery, the field transmitter, boost it up, hook my radio and started the party, seems wolves picked it up, lucky for us, our Irish buddy and I dispatched them before they nicked our asses.

Now we pray... come on Angel-1 and 3... Pick up the phone."

"A terrible day, starting out well with Antonio delivering a car over, at first I felt joy... I sent him over with these patients that couldn't move to the hospital, leaving me and one more patient, one that couldn't risk exposing themselves to the cold outside, but as I tried to reach out to the Crew, I heard a vehicle, just as I tried getting out... I get knocked out. 

I woke up to the sound of Antonio returning, my neck stinging as what I believe a needle was inserted, I discovered I have been spared by my attacker but they took the last patient. We found tracks, boot prints and dragging near the plane baring west... Antonio' family came to the scene to investigate, I felt uneasy as they started circulating suspicion at me... Thinking I staged this, I didn't confront this, didn't had time as Antonio got a buller chucked through his stomach, we couldn't hear the shot, only a few weapons are capable of little sounds, subsonic rifles. Taking cover, the medics started treating Antonio, then we had to drive, I drove him straight towards the Hospital as Hector with his ally went to search for that rat, but no success. 

Driving back, the car suddenly stopped, my paranoia grew as I thought more sabotage was going on... First the plane fuel, then the patient... Now this. It is evidently clear we are now on borrowed time, if we want to get going, its time we step up and get Angel back it's wings."

15 January 2021

"Today we decided to stay in for the first time since we got here, reflect and plan carefully. We lost a patient to someone and the storms definitely keep them grounded, so there is a chance we can get them back. Only thing difficult is where to start. I recall Antonio mentioning one place here that has open spaces for landing, Tisy. Looking over the map, I could only see it marked as a military establishment, so there is that. It is approximately an hour driving or two on foot or more. 

If we believe the patient is being taken there, then I have no other reasons not to try. Hector and his groups suspicion of me makes me feel uneasy, but if I can prove them I was right...

The APU is still in one piece, still down but we can fix it. Tomorrow I will take the Crew and salvage parts from the C-130 while the icy weather is going on, as long as that blistering cold is here, no helicopter or plane can arrive... 

On the 16th... We go into Tisy... I am not leaving Chernarus with the patient behind."

"Day begin with a jog to North Western Airfield, on my way I have seen the true side of this land, death, decay and abandon. Reaching the airfield took me hours, the sunrise shined on the large airfield, and on the AC-130 laying in the snow. I got my tools ready and started working. It took me a hell lot of time to dethatch the engine, with a dossier in hand, I took step by step to take down engines 1 and 2. And stripped down Engine 4. To my surprise, Hector came and aided me with an entire Caravan, the whole operation took two hours to load them up and drive back took almost a whole day.

We change heart to heart confessions and discussions about family and our duties here. I appreciate him and respect him deeply.

However, on our way, we heard a radio transmission from a Russian, they spoke about a car being broken down, then we saw the same car on the way back, therefore, Antonio's hunch may be true after all. Tomorrow I will assemble a strike team, we will get that patient back or die trying."

17 January 2021

Angel-2 formed a group of fighters, some ex-members of the Mercenaries and took it to Tisy Military Base, communications between Robert Valentin and Captain Ivan Petrov showed that the Mercenaries were not willing to discuss, only to reveal they kept tabs on Angel-2 and majority present, they engaged as nighttime covered the land, first shot wounding and knocking down a member, Robert engaged and eliminated one of the opposing members. The fight went on for half an hour, with a standoff between Runian and the two remaining PMC, unsuccessful, the team of Angel-2 were taken down and left behind, later picked up by a passerby and taken back to Angel-2 Campsite.

The patient that was taken Hostage was taken away from Chernarus by Captain Ivan Petrov and his remaining soldier by Helicopter, the last thing Robert seen as he was slowly fainting was a smug look on the Russian Captain's face.

Will the crew of Angel-2 succeed after this horrible defeat? Time can tell.

Update 12/01/2021

- Bad news for Angel-2, a leakage was spotted during a test of the Auxiliary Power Unit, the APU. Forcing an emergency stop as well as fending off a Horde of infected. Nobody was injured. The defense was a success thanks to Hector Del Toro ( @YAKMOUTH) 

- Thanks to Callahan and the Dossers, the Crew and Passengers are set for a good amount of time with food and medical supplies. ( @HDragon) 

- A surprise attempt at the men's lives were barely dodged as a Sniper attack disturbed the calm aftermath of the assessment. Fortunately nobody was injured. ( @kalyri) 

- Phase 1 Ended in a good outcome but a fail. Supplies were met, defense was successful but the damage to the APU will render Angel-2 highly unlikely for a speedy recovery. 

Phase 2 : Backup Plan commences soon.

Update 13/01/2021

• Asclepius Research and Healthcare offered a big aid in picking up 80% of the Victims of Angel-2 to keep under observation while the plane is being fixed, the rest 20% will need a vehicle transportation.
• A distress signal was sent out on the International Distress Frequency, only time will tell if help will arrive...

Update 14/01/2021

- Phase 2 ended with a Green. But a new issue rises and one patient is reported kidnapped! 

- More and more attacks are targeting Angel-2 but with the rest of the 13 patients taken by the Medical Group, efforts around the Plane double, allowing them to work slightly faster. 

- Saturday marks a search and rescue party, stay tuned!

- No event progressed today by Staff. Some members did push the narrative flow, thanks to @Aron73 for promoting the event via Stream.

Search and Rescue :

- The Mercenaries that threatened Angel-2 have their hands on a Patient that is unable to keep warm themselves, they are at risk and will need extraction ASAP. 

- PVP Skirmish, rules and planning will be done prior to the event, as well as a followup RP

- New Story details will be available after skirmish. An hour announcement will arrive before it starts. 

- Sunday Event starts at 12:30 GMT+2.

• Hector Del Toro and his group members aided majorly in gathering two entire engines for AC-130 from NW Airfield and taken back to Angel-2, along with MAJOR parts and tools to aid in fixing the carrier. ( @YAKMOUTH )

• Angel-2's attempt was unsuccessful, Kiril Popov, was taken by the Mercenaries... Who knows what will happen to them now.
• The Plane is actively being worked at, there will be all hands on deck now.
• Majority of the crew and help were wounded, lucky for them, they still live but will be out of commission for some time. Transported out of the warzone back to Angel-2 to be taken care off.
