Emerald SommerTheViking Posted November 16, 2020 Emerald Share Posted November 16, 2020 (edited) Just gonna throw out a simple idea, whenever a gun is held, the players camera should force itself into first person view, just to eliminate people who like to exploit the camera to peak over walls, around cornors ect while there could be lives on the line. cheating and exploits aside, it also makes the situation more immersive in my personal opinion. Diamond Noble Posted November 16, 2020 Diamond Share Posted November 16, 2020 Every rp server has it, it would make us just like them, besides it's buggy and sometimes you holster your gun and still sit in first person mode, so yeah, would just cause a lot more frustration than it is worth. -1 1 Link to comment
Emerald Taffinator Posted November 16, 2020 Emerald Share Posted November 16, 2020 Unfortunately, as Noble pointed out, the "forced 1PP when equipping a weapon" is buggy and will screw you over. Also as a counterpoint - if you want 1PP for gunfight then IMHO you need 1PP all the time, to make it fair and to stop people holstering a gun for the 3PP advantage in a gunfight. Also, people suffer motion sickness in 1PP, so it is unfair to force this rule anyway. Link to comment
Tewudin
No. I wish we had a system like in SCUM though. There you couldn't abuse "peaking around the corner" while in third person because they actually implemented eye sight for your character. Therefore it had to physically peak around the corner for the enemy to be seen. That would be something cool for DayZ but I'm not sure if its doable. Link to comment
Diamond Player 1 Posted November 16, 2020 Diamond Share Posted November 16, 2020 (edited) No. I don't like first person in this game. It doesn't feel right. It's buggy and frustrating to deal with. It's also horrible for melee combat and dealing with infected who are very buggy. Players with integrity won't cheat. So why should they be punished? Edited November 16, 2020 by KOT Link to comment
Emerald Foxi Posted November 16, 2020 Emerald Share Posted November 16, 2020 Personally I wouldn't mind this. I've played on other servers that do this, and I never had an issue with it. This was awhile back however, so I don't really know about it supposedly being buggy and stuff. If I were shown examples of why 1pp is broken / buggy I'd be open to changing my mind on this. 2 Link to comment
Itsmez
No. i can only imagine how horrible this would be, either force 1 person all the time or not at all 1 Link to comment
Fujin
In the past I would've voted yes but I played on a different RP server for a month and that restriction was one of the things I disliked the most. It isn't immersive or anything it just frustrates both parties in PvP because it forces people into specific playstyles during those encounters. Also most kills are from 3rd person from hip firing so it would be extremely awkward to force people to relearn. With that being said, -1 Link to comment
Emerald SommerTheViking Posted November 16, 2020 Author Emerald Share Posted November 16, 2020 i get that its an unpopular opinion and so far the response has been, its buggy, it forces us to change ''playstyle'' personally i have never experienced a single bug with it, however i do understand the point with motion sickness which i did not think about originally, the main idea was to make people stop abusing the game and the exploit of being able to see around cornors and over walls, but the voice of the people shall be heard. I suppose this post can be removed again 1 Link to comment
Sapphire Knight Posted November 16, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted November 16, 2020 I nearly always pvp in first person so it wouldn't make any change for me. altough finally people wouldn't be able to prefire you without ever showing something of themselves. i like it, some hate it , it atleast makes it less easy to pvp. +1 1 Link to comment
Legend Jamie Posted November 16, 2020 Legend Share Posted November 16, 2020 Fair enough Mr Sommer, understandable suggestion but at this time with given options with the state of the game, doesn't look like we can put this in yet. /Closed upon request. 1 Link to comment
