Is there KOS?

Recommended Posts

So i have been playing a solid 10 hrs straight on the server since i got white listed,  aimlessly wondering the map and looting.  My biggest question is, if i run into players should i be worried im "trespassing" on teritory?  And if i am going too be KOS?  Ive met a few players that were friendly, just unsure if all encounters will be friendly.

Some times I wonder how people get through the white list system, that was meant to be made harder yet we have a question like this......

No....no there is no KOS. I’d highly recommend you read the rules like you were meant to.

You are whitelisted, which means you had to read the rules.

This is a roleplaying server. Kos is not allowed and therefore against the rules.

There can be hostile roleplay and you might get killed if you dont follow orders or if you dont value your characters life.

Please, read the rules again and the newcomer guide. The guide is very well written and will also explain how you avoid to die if you would run into hostile roleplayers.

All good. If you have questions or doubts, you can always contact Staff or ask in Discord. Good luck and welcome!

I don’t want to dogpile but there isn’t a better example of why we need to increase whitelist difficulty ?

Answers like that do not help the OP at all. Make a suggestion thread, dm Rolle, give feedback... hell... use the staff-discord you are in to discuss. You wrote you dont want to 'dogpile' and do it anyway in the same sentence...

@Cletus poncho besides the newcomer guide, you should look into the complete guide section for more help. https://www.dayzrp.com/forums/forum/247-guides/

I have. Alas, same ol’ whitelist

I say “I don’t want to dogpile” to imply that what I am about to say isn’t directed at the OP. Sorry, I didn’t really make it clear

I won't lie I agree with @Terra. This was the exact definition of a bunch of people dogpiling one guy because he asked a question that seems obvious to us because we've been here for much longer. KOS zones, which i think were the nature of what he was asking, are not covered in our rules (because they don't exist). The rules do not explicitly say "there are no KOS zones" so it's a somewhat reasonable question to ask.

This guy hasn't been reported for blasting someone in what he thought was a KOS zone (which would clearly indicate he hadn't read the rules), he just asked a question.  @Cletus poncho do not be afraid to ask questions about the features of our server. Asking questions is a perfectly reasonable thing to do and should not be frowned upon. Better you ask than make a mistake right?

Welcome Cletus. I’d say the majority of your interactions will be friendly, if you’re friendly. This is pretty much how I play. However there will be hostile interactions. Those interactions have been some of the most tense dayz experiences I’ve had. They usually happen after your character story progresses.  Just remember to put the role play first and don’t just pew pew.  Have the mindset that your gun is a prop for your character, not for shooting and you’ll enjoy any hostile rp that could come your way.  There’s a learning curve.  GL dude

Given that the OP says he's received his answer and some of the responses on here have been less than helpful this thread will be /closed.

Ease up guys. There's no need to dogpile him for a simple question, just give him a helpful answer and move on.
