Can't find/join the server

Howdy,

Haven't played in a while on DayzRP servers and I was a bit surprised to see that my whitelist application is still valid. Made a quick temp character to play with and tried to join the server but ran into some problems:

I can't find the server in community servers list, I've tried to set the filters but it's no use. Searching just "Dayzrp" I get 2 Polish and one Hungarian server. Using Dayzrp.com I find none.

Then I tried with the steam client bootstrapper, it shows me the server, I can see how many players are online and the ping is refreshing, but otherwise it tells me that "server is not responding", I can try joining anyway but the game just launches and takes me to the main menu.

Lastly I've tried using direct join, but it does nothing, like the server doesn't exist. 

I've been tinkering with the mod list, making sure that they are in right order, validated the games files, made sure that the character name matches. Now I have creeping suspicion that my whitelist application isn't as valid as I thought. The whitelist page has all green check marks and the bottom reads: "Congratulations, you are now a full member of DayZRP community!"

Please post a screenshot of your parameters in the steam launcher.

Tick only three boxes.

Profile Name.: Mikael Wallen

Server Address.: s1.dayzrp.com

Server Port.: 2300

 

Leave the password blank.

 

Try that. If it doesn't work report back, or poke me on discord!

Oh.

Your character is set to private, thats also not gonna help, and could result in you getting booted when you try to join.

This setup worked! Previously I typed the password under the port option and couldn't join, could that have been the cause?

Thanks a lot my man, now I feel stupid not figuring this out myself. It is almost 2 years since I played DayZ last time and the launcher and everything has changed so much.

And I'll also set the character to public. Didn't remember that one either

I've had people report having the password in causes it not to load into the server.

I have no idea why, but removing the password seems to give it time to 'load' the server fully before it asks for the password, and that just lets it work.
