Detailed description of the events:  I was passing through kamyshovo  when I notice a group of gentlemen in a kamaz pull over people in a  Uaz, after keeping a close eye on the situation I then notice  someone else drive up to the vehicles in a olga,  after waiting around for 10-15 minutes, A lot of gun fire begins they move away from the vehicles , me  seeing this as an opportunity to taker a vehicle under the there  noses, I make my way over, get into  the vehicle, enter, at this moment,  I'm already half way through starting the vehicle up when I see 2 gentlemen come over, The car didn't even move  2 meters. someone said "who is this" or on these lines, then Bang, I'm shot, I was not told to leave the vehicle or threatened in anyway I was just KOS'd, No roleplay interaction what so ever, I thought If i was caught i could maybe talk my way out the situation or maybe get some possible hostage roleplay, very disappointing.

I was the one who killed him. There was like 7 of us rping with these 2 dudes.  We are finishing up rp when this dude decides to try and take a car from 7 heavily armed military soldiers. I get next to him and tell him to stop the car while I am aiming my gun at him . He decides not to listen and keeps driving to which he is killed.

 

i do not know who in their right mind, would see that many military soldiers standing next to the cars, and decide to try and steal one of em and expect not to get shot. I believe it’s nvfl to even try that against a military force that has that many people When you are by yourself especially considering you didn’t even have a gun as you were a fresh spawn. 
 

tldr: man try’s to steal car from heavily armed military soldiers and dies after being caught in the act due to him not listening after we told him to stop

I was not told to stop my car at all, It was the lines of "who is this"?, then bang, dead, surely someone has video evidence considering the amount of people in the area..

Most everyone else was rping with the other dude. Me and @Dongle were the ones that saw the dude and took action

 

Edit: @Banshee I do not believe anyone on my side but Ill ask. I believe @Dongle POV would be good to have as he was right next to me.

I use shadow play to clip so I dont have a constant recording going on my PC.  I didnt clip this moment because I believed it was a pretty clear cut situation and didnt think there would be a report. Just because I have recorded in the past doesnt mean I clip everything that happens.

Also @Banshee I just confirmed with everyone in discord. Nobody has video evidence.

You knowingly attempted to steal a car from people. This is a hostile action that grants defender rights. You were then shot and killed.

What is the rulebreak you are reporting for?

You state BadRP because you didn't get the chance to talk your way out of it. The flip of that coin is what RP would you have been providing by stealing their car out from under their nose?

KoS, no initiation, maybe the opportunity and chance to leave the vehicle when threatened, maybe the possible chance to talk my way out of situation, maybe even been taken back to there headquarters for possible interrogation guess we wont know because i was shot in the head. It's good to know that if anyone gets in any of my vehicles in the future I can just shoot on sight without any verbal interaction.

Just for clarification, Maybe I'm putting this in the wrong area, If someone  attempts to steal a vehicle in front of someone and this is classed as a hostile action which automatically grants said party defender rights, can this also be applied to catching someone raiding a base, If I catch someone raiding my home, Can I automatically kill said robbers because I have defender rights, with no verbal interaction?. thank you

Summary
@Nathaniel is traveling and spots a group of people in a Kamaz pulling over a UAZ, as he watches the people from a distance. When the group of people gets a distance from the vehicle Nathaniel springs into action and attempts to steal the vehicle from its owners. In that attempt, @Mason spots him and fires at the OP killing him.

Not Guilty Reasoning
@Nathaniel - You literally say in your own POV “seeing this as an opportunity to taker a vehicle under the there noses” meaning you fully knew who the vehicle belonged to as well as the fact that they were there to defend it in case anything was to happen. When you know that you are actively stealing someone else’s property that gives them active defender rights on you whether they know it or not. You also mention how this killing provided no roleplay, however if you did manage to survive no roleplay would have come from you stealing the car and escaping. 

Finally, we’d like to address your following post “If someone attempts to steal a vehicle in front of someone and this is classed as a hostile action which automatically grants said party defender rights, can this also be applied to catching someone raiding a base, If I catch someone raiding my home, Can I automatically kill said robbers because I have defender rights, with no verbal interaction?” As said above, if someone knowingly raids or steals from you then yes you can use your defender rights without verbal initiation. However, we always recommend for verbal contact with the opposing individual to encourage RP and ensure you have valid rights.

@Mason - While you are not being found guilty of invalid kill due to having defender rights, you need to be absolutely positive that the person you are killing knew they were stealing your vehicle. If you weren't present at the vehicle when they attempted to steal it they may not be aware it belonged to someone. Please keep this mind in the future.
