Guest nevrkenesr
So I've been out and about on the server a good bit, and I have met some people. The problem I'm finding is because im not Russian alot of people are reluctant to converse or group with me. Most of them talk in russian or some other eastern european languages (forgive my ignorance). I straight up got a fuck you from a group of three today as I waved hello I understand that me be part of the Russians RP (distrusting foreigners). But I've literally been around the map multiple times and the closest I've come is one guy who walked with me to the airfield. What are the best ways for a non russian/cherno russian to meet fellow foreigners who want to group up? I've been trying to do it organically in game but it has been frustrating. Seems like alot of what is out there are closed shops for solo players Thanks Link to comment
TheGlassSpider
It's a lonely world. Don't overlook the opportunity for creativity in solo role play. Keep at it. Even people who don't trust you will get more accustomed to you being around, if you're around. Listen to the radio: Both IG and on the forums, there will be clues to where people are or have been recently. If you're feeling brave, make an IC radio broadcast and invite people to your position (this can lead to just as much trouble as good stuff, so be forewarned). Try to figure out something unique your character can offer. Good stories and conversation, some kind of specialty in supplies, other talents - if you have something that you're offering consistently, word will spread and eventually someone will need whatever it is. RP it out: I think being in a world like this would be lonely and scary, and people would be disinclined to trust. Your character may very well have similar feelings about how difficult it is to make friends, and even talk about it. I know it can be frustrating, but alllll of us have been there. Link to comment
Guest nevrkenesr
Totally get that, its hard for an Irishman in Cherno Russia. Thanks for the encouraging and positive reply Link to comment
Diamond Multi21 Posted June 6, 2020 Diamond Share Posted June 6, 2020 From what I've heard there's a good few Irishmen wandering around Chernarus! I'm sure you'll bump into them eventually! As already mentioned make sure to pay attention to the radio, there have been a lot of broadcasts about stuff going on in certain places, even advertising social hotspots You're always going to find people who don't particularly want to RP with strangers or even say "Hello". But be sure to keep in mind it's still very early on in the apocolypse and people haven't grown used to relying on strangers for help, give it time, and don't try too hard to find RP straight away or it might not go on your favour! Guest nevrkenesr
Yeah, I've been reaching out on the radio, been getting some minor interactions. Thanks for the comment Link to comment
Sapphire S.Bradley Posted June 7, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted June 7, 2020 Honestly, I can't say im having the same issue as I met up with a group of 10 who I never met and formed a group, But I will say if you can't find anywhere in about 3 days' pay attention to radio since we may announce where we are. If RAC doesn't break our door down XD Link to comment
Guest nevrkenesr
lol, cool man. It's probably my own fault aswel, im hugging the trees and trying to be cautious. Thanks for the reply Link to comment
Trotsky
Your best call would probably be visiting the areas most populated by foreigner-friendly groups, atm they're Novodmitrovsk and Vybor. Hang out there, get to know people. It's part of the challenge for you, as someone who chose to make a foreign character, to fit into the early days of the lore and make a place for yourself. If you do consider it to be too difficult, try making an Eastern European character instead, it might make it easier. If not, then best of luck either way. Link to comment
Guest nevrkenesr
Thanks man, yeah ill be making my way to some of the more populated areas later today. I don't want to create and eastern european character because im not particularly good at RP'ing accents. I think for authenticity an eastern european character requires that Link to comment

From what you have written - staying to trees, playing it safe seems like a reasonable IC action, looking at how things are right now lore wise. And as other before have stated - you can always try one of the known places. Some of them even do transmissions in game as a sort of commercial - it will appear as a text in lower left corner. Annnd there's the radio chatter forum. A lot of work, but don't get discouraged. I usally give myself some small mission not dependent on meeting anybody, and while doing it (be it checking out my old family place or smth else) I usually find people just by accident. Good luck! 1 Link to comment
Guest nevrkenesr
Thanks, Yeah as a foreigner and the information I have received from the few people I have met, I have chosen to be cautious and careful. Part of my RP is distrust of certain groups within the game due to my past. I know there's quite a few people scatter as of now. I think as you have said, as the Lore develops so will the groups. I'm not discouraged persay, I am enjoying the survival and learning the lay of the land IC. It's been fun listening to the radio. Thanks for your comment Link to comment
