Bring back the Scoped Mosin!

Title says it all really.

The long range scope for the Mosin was replaced by the PU scope back in the mists of time. Presumably because the Winchester 70 was its replacement. However, with the new lore it makes sense that the Mosin should retake it's place or at least stand along side it. 

Not everyone will be able to use an SVD, so giving civilian players a chance to see the power of the mighty 7.62x54mmR cartridge would be nice! Coincidently, there is a mod available for this very thing:

Best thing? He gives permission to repack into a mod if desired, so this could be a permanent fixture of the DayZRP mod...

I agree, giving players more reasons to stay away from military grade gear for as long as possible can never be a bad thing.

The hunting scope itself is not able to fit on the Mosin anymore, but I know that one of the scopes from one of the mod packs does, where that scope spawns in the same places as the hunting scope so it is currently possible to use a scoped Mosin.

If the developers are able to change the vanilla hunting scope to fit then I say go for it!

But for the time being until something is possibly changed, you've a workaround it for now.

There is a 50kb or so mod on the workshop that allows a hunting scope to be placed on a mosin, no mod pack required, just this one tiny mod

You know what, you have just reminded me! I was searching a hunting cabin when I found a scope that I assumed was a hunting one, but, it didn't fit my CR-572, which can take one. 

I assumed it was some mod scope for a modded gun, but that must be the Mosin scope! At least I know know it spawns in hunting loot locations...

We can just allow the hunting optic on the Mosin rather than adding a new mod. Since I won't be working on the crashing investigation until Sunday I'll just go do this real quick right now.

 

This will be coming in the next DayZRP patch.

Oh cool, the Mosin Hunting Optic actually still exists in the game, just renamed and not attachable to the mosin. This change will be proposed today and will (likely) ship with DayZRP 20.6.2.

Same as other long-range hunting scopes.
