I will go with no on this one.

7 days is more than enough, there is no need to increase it further, which in the end would also clog the server for longer than needed which in turn doesn't help server performance.

So i can put an item and take it back from a barrel, and the lifespan timer will be reset to another 7 days, correct?

No from me. It would just increase hoarding of loot which is a detriment to RP. 7 days is already long enough, even if you log in just once a week and interact with your stuff you're good.

Yes, interacting with an item that has persistence resets its timer.

EG: When basebuilding was still used, people would either put nails or camo net on the walls as to refresh their timer (although in rare cases, walls still despawned, mostly due to a persistence error).

Same with storage containers, put an item and take it back and it resets its timer. Ofcourse, remember that you need to have at least one item in the storage container to stay persistent.

Yeah I voted NO on this one as I believe 7 days is more than enough time and as others have stated before me, you can always interact with said items and you will be good.

If you don't revisit your storage within a one week period, you aren't playing enough. ?

This is a big no from me.

No. If you're going to keep storage you should be active enough to interact with it at least once a week.

Phat no.

If you're not on inside a week you literally haven't had a need for the items you're storing inside it ergo it's pointless hoarding.

I voted no too. Hoarding gear bogs down the server and makes it harder for other people to play.

I get where you're coming from, though. I know that it probably feels pretty frustrating to have things you've collected disappear, but it's really not all that big of a deal. Shifting your focus to RP and survival gear is more important than a huge supply of guns hidden away in the forest or something. Takes some time to get used to the fact that roleplay is more important than gear coming in from public servers. I personally love meticulously sorting my inventory and fitting everything I need on my character at all times... but I'm a psychopath.

Besides, visiting your stash once a week seems pretty doable. And if not? Then your stuff despawns... and then oh well, you collect more.

If the current expiration time is 7 days then I see no point in changing it.

Increasing it from 7 to 20 days is literally the opposite of the point of reducing the lifespan. From the thread you linked:

Quote

Because players on DayZRP build much more than on regular servers, DayZRP uses custom lifetime timers to delete unused and abandoned bases

You should be visiting your stashes at least once a week anyways

I voted NO. See all the above for the reason.
