So, dusted off this old book today. Thought I should record all my shit, not like anyone will read it. Logistics has been a bitch today. They leave us here to maintain order but refuse to send food supplies to feed the hungry and scared civilians? We managed to scrounge up enough to keep everyone sated, but food is and will still be a problem until the higher ups can get us a supply shipment. Heard some thugs attacked today. People are going crazy already, and here I was thinking this was going to be an easy deployment....I don't like this whole mess. Russia getting more and more babysitter-like with us, it's getting on my nerves. I didn't fight the Liberation War to get bossed around by some smug bitch from Moscow. But either way, what am I gonna do about it? The people of Chernarus need the RAC now more than ever, and by damn, I'm going to do my best to help them through this crisis.

Got to see the Russian Refugee Camp. It's huge, much bigger than the one we got. They get regular shipments, radar, heavy fortifications. We get jack from the west and a shitty little roadblock.... Terrorists are getting more bold around us. We discovered a camp just a couple hundred meters away from our own refugee camp. Heard of a small skirmish with one of our patrols. Hope those guys made it out okay.

Been a tough couple of days. Lots of attacks by CLF, some foreign thugs, and this crazy doctor guy with his wackjob patients. Got to hear from Papa yesterday. He's doing good in Miroslavl, but something's not right. Nikolai's not with him. Fuck...I hope he isn't here. Veteran or not, he isn't the fighting type, he's going to get his ass handed to him by the CLF on a silver fucking platter. Brother...Get out of here while you can, it's not safe... Got orders to head to a new camp, Probably will write more when we get settled down. Long road ahead of us now....We're getting through this, these CLF traitors aren't getting the best of me.

Welp, finally moved into our camp. Berezino is a bigger city than Vybor, and one I'm more familiar with. Lots of memories of Severograd Secondary's Football team going to Berezino to get trounced. Gym got turned into a medical bay, lots of curtains, lots of litterbeds about. Engineers did a good job with the place, it's a lot bigger and a lot more secure than the old place. I also get a bunk with Sergeant Vykopal. Never really gotten to know him, he's a quiet guy for the most part, but he does his job well, not as drill-hungry as Sergeant Volkov, anyways.....The Russians finally have shown their true colors, and have been fucking us over constantly while we try to put an end to the CLF traitors. Funnily enough, we have a cease-fire with those terrorist dogs now... Lots of mixed feelings there, but, I'm under orders to not fuck with them. It's going to be hard though, these....men....they've taken so much from me. I've lost so many friends to the nationalists, and now I have to hold hands with them....

Last day of my leave back in the parts of Miroslavl we still control. The soldiers on duty here are all green-faced conscripts from what I've seen. They all got this....this look. They've only got a taste of combat, and it's come from, in their eyes, killing dozens, if not hundreds of their own countrymen, the people they're meant to protect. Morale is low in the barracks, lots of talk about the Russians just leaving these men for dead, leaving Chernarus for dead....they still expect us to put our lives down for the Motherland, for Russia....not me. I fight for Chernarus, for our fatherland, for Lopotev. Papa looks alright, thank God....I've never been a man of faith...but, tonight...I might pray. For my father's sake, if for anything else. Still no sight or sound from Nikolai...God, I hope my brother is okay....Maybe he'll reenlist, that's if he can actually find us in time....Well...I'm getting the night convoy back to South Zagoria, back to the grindstone. Saw President Bernarus on the TV, addressing the civilians. First time I've seen him on TV since I got deployed. That man shouldn't be our president....Comrade Bardak should be up there. He fought as hard as Lopotev for Chernarus, and this Russian boot-licker takes his rightful place....I should stop writing now...before I start punching things.

First time in a while I've been back home...Who am I kidding, I'm not home. I'm going only a half of a kilometer into South Zagoria for a hunting trip. Things have been getting worse at the camp. Food's running out, someone's been trying to poison our water supply. I'm being sent out with Serzhant Kuzmich to find some deer..or well anything, to kill for the camp. He's a man of action, I suppose, because he loathed us having to sit on our asses while the nationalists, if they're even still in South Zagoria, get to have their way with everyone. I loathe it too.
 

Nikolai is still nowhere to be seen. Papa's gone too. They're both probably dead. Maybe I should pray tonight, let God give me an answer.

 

I haven't written in this book for a while, not since we left....gonna keep this up some more, it's....comforting.

Fucking hell...We went out on another hunting trip, up by the old Tisy radar station, and what is our fucking luck, a damned nationalist is coming back from a RAC hunting trip by our camps...said he killed 10 of us....He got what he deserved. We didn't kill him, no...we're not animals, like them. I gave him a tattoo...well...more of an engraving, a constant reminder to his fascist pigdog brethren of his meeting with us. A nice hammer and sickle. I hope he gets shot by one of his own for that, it's what he deserves.

 

We met a russian while interrogating the nationalist. Damn russians...think they can big-dick us around, soon...they'll have their comeuppance soon.

 

We're having wolf for dinner...heh...funny...the Red Wolf of Severograd hunting wolves....

Well...I'm home....permanently. Supplies were running low, the Zsgorsk branch of the CLF had been skirmishing our camps for months at this point, poisoning water supplies and hunting any game in the area to near extinction in an effort to beat us out with attrition. Too much strain, too many mouths to feed, not enough to go around.

Tovarisch Vacek ordered me to go east.

To home.

Vacek...He's a good man. The head of the 75. Snaypersiky Polk, now a Podpolkovnik in the 34th. He was less ruthless than the other warlords, partly due to our roles in the war being detached from the lives of civilians. He was hard on us, but he respected us, and we respected him. 

He promoted me to Serzhant before I left. I guess he had been fighting hard to get me some kind of recognition for my service in the Liberation War, but RAC bureaucracy had stopped it.

So, I'm here. "Reconnaissance assignment", he called it. Standing orders are to keep tabs on activity in the region, report back to him, do what I can to bolster RAC support. How I'm meant to do this on my own is beyond me.

But it's my duty.

Things have been crazy, to say the least.

 

Toxic cloud covers most of the land north of the Inland MSR, No clue where it came from, but it's lethal. Hampers comms as well, No clue what it's done to the Tisy radar station.

 

CLF's South Zagoria Branch has finally hit the bucket. Dmitri's bastard son Boris got killed in a firefight, along with a bunch of his top goons. They're scattered, not gonna be much of a problem anymore.

But, one nationalist group replaces another. Guess we didn't do a good enough job hunting down the Horaceks, because a number of them have arrived, proclaiming their monarchy over the region.

Go back to your river, imperialist dogs.

 

Some more good news, albeit tense is here too. A band of an old Chedaki unit has come around. That'd be good, if it weren't for who they were or what they've said their ambitions are...

Seems they are just here to kill, terrorize. No wonder they didn't join RAC, they didn't join to retake Chernarus for the socialist cause, they joined to commit their war crimes, gives the rest of us a bad name. I need to keep an eye on them, though they'll likely be doing the same to me.

Ran into Kuzmich again, and that Russian...his name's Konstantin, I guess. There are others, I'm shacking up with them because of Kuzmich. Any comrade is better than no comrade, even if he deserted, as he told me.

Made my first intelligence report to Vacek last night. Standing orders haven't changed, but I'm to assist the Russians with whatever they need done, especially getting them in contact with Moscow. Comms to Russia have been down, since the woman came on our radios and proclaimed the collapse of the Russian Federation, something about that irked Vacek, talked about a directive. Nothing I know, but...

I need to be careful. Focus on the mission.
