FOOD? IS THERE ANY?

Hey 

Has anyone else been really struggling to find food? 
Ive been through around 6 villages (Chernarus) , which seem to have been untouched by players and have found 1 tin of sardines and 1 jar of jam (thank the lord)

Has anyone else been struggling to find food, or is it just me?

I am pretty sure it depends on the loot table but I have not found any issues at all, try hunting or fishing if that is the case.

Most things restock every hour, but once picked up take an hour to restock again, or some formula like that.

 

If you are hitting popular towns, thats why. Try the outskirts or fringe places.

Try to keep hunting supplies with you. Follow the sound of animals. Elks are pretty easy to hear. Follow the sound and kill/skin them. Cook the food and you'll be good for a while. Make sure to keep the fat. Very nutritive.

Longshot but check greenhouses. They can spawn seed packets- but also spawn water bottles, vegetables, fizzy drinks cans and tinned food.

Food spawn rates should be upped IMO, I made a thread not too long ago about it saying that the rates should go up due to it being the start of the apocalypse but it was quickly shut down for some reason.

I have tripled canned beans spawns last evening. There should be between 50 and 100 cans of beans on the map at all times.

I haven't really struggled to find food like others have. I just run around like I usually do and just happen to find a can every so foten, keep in mind infected will also have a chance to have food on them although I'm not sure what the percentage chance of them having a can of it on them is.

There is definitely food, you just need to loot unlooted villages i suppose

Go in small towns and camping grounds. A lot of people share the same ideas as you do so try to avoid the popular areas. Trust me, people go there too. We are so used to how things were a few months ago that we have forgotten how should be with full and populated servers.

Zombies have lots of food. Like every tenth zombie has some food or so.

Try hunting , it really helps to get enough food

Just make a imporvised fishing rod and try and kill a chicken for the bones easiest way to get food to be honest just constantly fishfrom my oppinion.

Also, food can be found within clothing as well - always use the inventory screen to check if that badly damaged pink skirt might be hiding a Tim of tuna within! 

Also, high traffic areas will inevitably be slim pickings. Try a detour to a nearby village or town for best results. 

Lastly, as others have pointed out - hunting gives the best rewards food wise but it can be time consuming. Chickens and fishing are the easiest, but offer the least food wise.

I really am trying to get back into this great community but everytime I decide to play I die from starvation or thirst before I find any players. Not really a fun game cycle. But I am new to stand alone so this is most likely my own fault. Guess I will have to get good.

Look for apple trees! Also killing infected has a pretty decent chance to drop canned food

I have found a couple of cans lying around, but most of the food I carry on me was looted from the dead.
