Sapphire Angel Posted June 1, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted June 1, 2020 Considering the change of pace in the new Lore, would it be valid to report someone for BadRP if, for an example: - They act as if nothing is happening, as if nothing has changed or everything is normal. - Act as a seasoned survivor with years of experience in the apocalypse, carrying huge guns on their backs. If people want higher quality RP, I feel these should be punishable. What is the Staff's stance on it? 1 Link to comment
Legend Duplessis Posted June 1, 2020 Legend Share Posted June 1, 2020 For the first one it is, in my opinion, debatable. For the second one, absolutely. The apocalypse has barely even started yet. 2 Link to comment
Sapphire Pepsi Posted June 1, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted June 1, 2020 BadRP should be report able to those two points. There isn't an apocalypse just yet so Seasoned Survivors with years don't exist. Those who pretend nothing is wrong is plausible since some may have been wondering away from conflicts, like hitchhikers, summer camp participants. BUT, yes, those who pretend there isn't a whole pandemic and conflict in Chernarus are prone to BadRP report. Be mindful this is the very first days, errors will happen. 1 Link to comment
Diamond Combine Posted June 1, 2020 Diamond Share Posted June 1, 2020 (edited) The conclusion of this is that you need some level of (mostly unarmed) "campfire RP" in certain areas, however. Meaning you shouldn't just punish "bad RP" if you go along with this, but need to hope that you find the infrastructure to support certain initial stages of RP. Sapphire groovy cali Posted June 1, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted June 1, 2020 I've already been told that "people who make characters who go directly against the lore can be ignored and reported directly to lore staff members" and then they'll put it up the proper channels. But meh, at your own risk on that. Second seal team 6 survivor starts blabbing im walking, but gotta tread that line of "is it badrp or not" Link to comment
MVP Luca Posted June 1, 2020 MVP Share Posted June 1, 2020 I can just see new people making character pages where they "stranded on a beach" or "suddenly woke up in cherno" or their plane crashed. That's always a good one. Link to comment

Please report all CP's that don't fit the lore via the link on the CP. If you have a personal experience with someone that shows they aren't respecting the lore/meme'ing/etc, a report should be opened like usual for BadRP, or you can go to Discord and get a staff member to help you find the player so you can talk it out with them and guide them. In most cases its not people being malicious, its either a lack of understanding of the lore or too lazy to read it. Neither is good, but its the people that don't care to change that are the problem. 17 minutes ago, Phoenix said: I can just see new people making character pages where they "stranded on a beach" or "suddenly woke up in cherno" or their plane crashed. Roaming around I found a plane crash that was still smoking and the plane was still intact. I don't plan on it but could others use that in there story of how they got there. In this small scenario I feel like I would be plausible. What's your take on it? Link to comment
Sapphire Finn Posted June 4, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted June 4, 2020 Sometimes I messup and act like I've always acted before, but I've been trying harder and harder to act like a normal human being would when faced with an unknown infection like this. There are moments where I begin to line up a shot on some random innocent zed and then think to myself, why would I be doing this... this could most likely lead a large group of infected towards me. Other moments where I behave like I did pre-wipe and then make efforts to put more fear into my character. ... I do see more and more civilian characters carrying around military weapons and it doesn't make sense. Link to comment
MVP Mexi Posted June 4, 2020 MVP Share Posted June 4, 2020 I think you need to give people time to adjust to a new setting instead of being ready to smack someone with points and a ban because they're not used to acting as if something is new after 3+ years of the prior lore. People just need reminders if certain shit happens, not bans/ punishments. We're Roleplayers, not the Gestapo. Show some lenience. 1 Link to comment

It's a well-known community meme for new players to make their backstory based of the various plane/helicopter crashes throughout the map. This style of backstory should be if possible avoided Link to comment

I dont think people should be banned and stuff but they should definitely be pulled aside and corrected. People react better to that generally. We should be trying to help other older players and newer players get use to the new lore and play style as a community. A little kindness goes a long way. If they refuse to change or listen, then yeah, ban and points 'em. Edited June 4, 2020 by Lori Link to comment

I think the only reason I thought about it is because it came up in my RP when me and someone else were talking about the intact plane lol i see what you mean now Link to comment
