Probably the best welcome to a community, ever.

Well, I've had a few days to think about this, and to just really sum up how I feel about being a part of this Dayz community. 

 

Glad I joined. Honestly, I am. 

 

My first proper session, I was able to:

1. Have a lovely bit of beer drinking with a trip of gentlemen in the clinic in Zelenogorsk, lovely bit of RP and helped me get over my awkwardness, to the trio, thank you, hope you enjoyed the six pack! 

2. Took part in a lovely bit of campfire RP in Novy Sabor. Got Held up in Novy as well as trying to fight a horde with nothing but a bolt action and a dream, crashing, and being fixed up by a one eyed Russian bloke, top save, thanks! 

3. @Hofer orchestrating the hilarity at Stary, where I accidentally shot someone in the arse and gave food/water to an emotionally sick American, and being defended by more shooting than the opening of Saving Private Ryan!

4. Seeing the legendary driving skills of @Jackfish in real time, by nearly being run over and the trucks acting like dodgems. One poor soul got mauled by infected, while another got DayZ'd by the truck, and some thirsty Russians hitting on the only girl present! Oh, and an execution happened. It was a rollacoster of emotions!

5. Finally, operation bear at the border, and me and a fellow survivors running to the hills, before making our way back in the rain, and having her show me the way because I was hopelessly lost! Thank you for the calming campfire RP, it was great! 

All on all, I couldn't have wished for a better introduction to the Dayz community. It was a pleasure to be a part of it all, and I also would like to thank everyone who made it a blast! (Also I sound so incredibly Welsh on Hofer's stream, I'm like a bloke version of fucking Ruth Maddock me...)

Good to hear that you are having a good time around here!

I remember the first couple of sessions I played around here. I was really surprised by what the community offert. When I signed up for it, I expected some interactions and roleplay, but it was way better than I thought it would be. It actually turned into a long building story that continued for a while. Got involved with some groups and had a great time overall. Looking back on it now, I think those first interactions really define how people experience the community. Hopefully people still take in newcomers in a similar way as when I joined.
