Problems building Fenckit

I no longer see an option to build a fencekit. Are fences still in the game?

No. Fences and gates were removed - moredoors were added to allow securing houses. To build a door from "moredoors' mod just combine hammer and planks. Different ammounts give you different sets.

Here are some recipes from steam page of the Moredoors mod. I can only advise that after creating the Kit, while putting hails in, don't put more than needed, because you won't get "the change". Also ammounts may be different if our devs changed them.

For real!? Thanks for that heads up. I really appreciate it. I always put more than I need, so I definitely would have been a victim of that.

So, does the recipe only use a hammer or can a hatchet be used also as it was with the normal building mechanics? Because I've been on the server for 4+ hours and I still can't find a single hammer.

Only hammers work. However the recipe does not consume the hammer.

Hammer is the only tool you'll need. When you combine planks & a hammer and pick a correct kit from the available ones, you'll get a tiny box. That box you just fill with necessary parts (correct ammount of planks, nails and a metal wire) and then it gives you an option to place doors. No shover or other tool is needed and as stated above, hammer is not consumed in that process.
