Detailed description of the events: After spawning in Nadezhino, I ran to Rogovo to find food, water, basic early game essentials.  Some random english guy approached me, admiring my brown cowboy hat, I told him not to worry about it and to get away from me.  2 secs later I was shot and killed.  Sorry, I don't have a recording of this long winded RP session.

Hello, I hadnt seen the message so sorry for going in game beifre this had been delt with, basically I met some nice bloke, I was being nice attempting to talk woth him, hr began to get angry for no apprent reason then charged towards me, so I was forced to shoot him. I do not have a recording sadly.

Could you please go into more detail regarding your interaction and what you mean by, "began to get angry"?  Were any words exchanged from either side?

He began swearing repeatedly, and called me a kiddo and I think a cunt at some stage, he then charged towards me, which then i shot him

 

All I had done was admire his hat and say "hey mate, u alright"

 

He was consitently hostile

Before you jump back in game, could you please address why you logged out right after this hostile interaction?  Additionally, was there an initiation offered by either you or Crim?

I was about to go off anyway to watch a movie with my dad, and I counted him charging to me and swearing as intiating, he also had his hands up ready to hit and was screaming

Excuse me but please don't lie.  We literally spoke for 30secs max.  I was running yeah, in my opening statement I was looking for food etc.  You didn't initiate, I gave u no reason to initiate.  You literally pulled out your gun and shot me cos I called u kiddo.

Summary:
@Crim is searching through Rogovo for early game gear donning a cowboy hat.  @ChazTheOx approaches Crim to admire the cowboy hat, leading Crim to tell him to jog on.  The details of the interaction are not detailed, but the conclusion of it involves Crim acting in some manner that ChazTheOx wrongfully interprets as an initiation.  ChazTheOx then shoots Crim, rendering him unconscious, and finishes the kill by beating Crim's unconscious body with a sledgehammer and logging off.

Rulebreaks:

• Firstly, we'd like to address the straightforward rulebreak here.  Per rule 4.5, you may not log off after a hostile interaction, such as killing a person, until 30 minutes have passed since you've broken line-of-sight with any players that have kill rights on you as a result of the hostile action.  @ChazTheOx logged out barely 2 minutes after killing @Crim, making him guilty of combat logging.
• Lastly, while POVs disagree on the tone the conversation took, they both agree that @Crim never initiated on @ChazTheOx.  Swearing and, "charging to," someone is not an initation and does not offer rights to kill the swearing person.  @ChazTheOx's belief that this was an initiation is purely a misinterpretation of the rules, meaning his kill on Crim was invalid.

Suggestions:
@ChazTheOx, we'd like to recommend you familiarize yourself with what exactly an initiation is.  For a refresher, initiations are comprised of a clear demand and a consequence if that demand is not met, more often than not delivered in a hostile manner, such as with a gun raised.  Swearing at someone, even while running at them, is not an initiation unless those swear words are accompanied by a demand and consequence.  While you wait out your ban, it may be of use to you to head over to the Media subforum and look at any media from any hostile roleplay encounters; this way, you can see live examples of what exactly an initiation is.  You'll definitely be able to identify an initiation as one and if you can't, chances are it was done incorrectly.

Verdict:
@ChazTheOx | Combat Logging, Invalid kill (roleplayed) | GUILTY.  3 day ban, 10 warning points.  Character reset.
