Old lore memories
Hello everyone. As a lot of you know the lorewipe will hit end of this month. While some are trying to wrap up their stories, others feel already done with it and are thinking about the new lore. A lot of topics have popped up about the new lore. From people asking what others plans are for the future to people asking if the lorewipe will 'save' the community. Instead of looking forward on something that we do not know a lot about yet, I would like to look back at what we do know.

In this thread I want to get some nostalgia going. I would like to hear some of your most memorable moments from the old lore. Things that happened to your character or group that you find worth mentioning again. Feel free to share it here!

Lets give the old lore some of the positivity it deserves

The biggest memory I think of was the time I was in Praetorian Guard and we defended our base against thirty 5.0.3 attackers. We had like twelve people inside, and in the end we killed twenty two, and had only one survivor. It was a fun time and a fun fight.

Haven't played that much on this lore, but I definitely have great memories from the beginning of the lore when I was part of the UN lore group.
Everyone we were interacting with were so engaged with their characters and the general lore, it was great.
More precisely, when we had a settlement in the appartement complex north of Cherno and there was just so much going on.

I think my favorite memories from this lore come from running Camp Fifty Two/Camp Teddy with the boys from Fifty Two.  Putting my character, a young guy who just wants everyone to do the right thing, in a position of hesitant leadership and diplomacy was really fun.  Making a roleplay hotspot is exhausting, but worth it at the end of the day, and I'm very grateful we decided to do that with my character at the helm of the camp.

I remember that, my first day on the lore some drug dealers tried to get me to sell morphine to people at the camp xD

During my first week here I was tortured by the Toymakers, in which I watched @Malthis's eye fall out and @Fae's nail be removed. The RP with that group was by far some of the best I had and made me know this community would be home.

The District days. I met those lads a couple years ago and unfortunately for them im still with them.

I remember how they wanted to sell me to some random Americans. Glad they didn't.

One of my favourite memories was meeting Teddy, spending hours walking from NW of the map down to your guys' camp and we met the Dr who carved something into George and we tortured him but decided to let him live, letting George have his dream of killing the Dr still be a reality. I'll never forget that, I'd not long came back to DayZRP and you really helped me get back into the swing of things RP wise!

Long live Teddy! Even if it ended to shit leaving Kyle hating Teddy for what happened ?

Some time during the first month of this lore, we had a full bus of people going from Kovar's market in Cherno to Zeleno for some sort of lore event. We were supposed to go up there and collect skin or blood samples from infected, or something. I don't think anyone really knew what they were supposed to be doing, but it was fun nonetheless. Just a bunch of random people working together and going on a road trip. It helped that the legendary Tony Moretti was there to inspire the crowd. Not the biggest moment, but it was real nice.

Other than that, I just fondly remember all the perma deaths I've had and witnessed. Honorable mention being my friend Ivan the Swede, murdered by his friend Larry. It might have been kind of, somewhat, totally my fault. One of the most emotional days of RP I have ever been a part of.

The boys and I in the VDV gently persuading everyone to move to Cherno. Getting drunk and making fun of one of our fellow soldiers juicing on a woman.

The giant Anarchy fight in Novy.

The pilot rescue, and me effortlessly slipping into the rescue party with a simple "Its Vladimir" which apparently was a totally respectable response.

Running my own group with the Rangers for once. Was a learning experience.

Damn where to begin? There was a lot of great moments for me at least. There's been so much things that I been apart of that made me enjoy my time here, I'd have to say my top 3 moments are these...

The great protest outside of the Cherno traders with @Peril and others where we made a ladder to scale their walls and ended up with the crowd getting shot at.
Meeting up with @Duke and joining the Runners, leading towards a coalition against anarchy (which then failed because people couldn't play nice)
@Stagsview little men in black concept

Besides running a lot of the pubs in Chernarus and having so much fun doing that, meeting new people, making new friends, it was always a blast!

I think my favorite time in an RP scenario was when Eddie and @Jean's character Alexa Valetine got married at the dam in Myshkino. We had so many people there and it was a blast. My character grew a lot from this as it wasn't only himself he had to worry about but now he had another he would have to keep an eye over (not that Alexa needed it). Life in the Apocalypse was bearable for once but that was soon to be tested in the near future......

Owning pubs always put a target on Eddie's back as it was a spot that everyone gathered. The last pub that he owned was with Alexa in Severograd. It was a popular spot but after making many enemies, Anarchy being the main one wanting us to moved to Lopatino and us refusing made for some tense situations. Alexa was always a strong willed woman who refused to bow down to anyone and she spoke her mind like any true Italian woman would, it would soon come back to haunt Eddie one morning when he received word that she had died to an Anarchy war dog named Boris. Eddie had a mock funeral for Alexa because her body was never returned to him....

This changed Eddie, his days were a little grayer, his nights a lot darker. He wasn't the man he once was, he was a shell of his old self. Eddie was hell bent on revenge so he gathered a horde of infected to try and take out as many Anarchist he possibly could, ultimately he never got the man he was pursuing, leaving Eddie to drift through the days in a daze not caring like he used to.

Eddie was always seeking revenge for Alexa but he never was able to get his chance. Who knows what the future holds for such a broken man............

*And that's my most favorite and fondest memory that shaped my character in more ways than one. My character has made bonds that will last a lifetime and I enjoyed the Roleplay given. This wipe is long overdue so who know what I will do character wise in the upcoming lore.*

There's many memorable moments. From the first, me first having radio contact and then running into the same person I made contact with, my first real interaction on DayZRP (Dr. Thatcher or so) to running into fellow cops early in the lore, getting a small cop and OREL gang and patrols going to it eventually dissolving.

Seeing the UN remnants try to get by after their evac, to the first Chernarussian militias coming from abroad to the oblast (Svoboda), linking up with CDFers, running into State Security, being basically recruited by it post-infection as one of the only few characters (SUCH SNOWFLAKE) in this lore iteration with maybe 2-3 others tops to seeing all these fights, infiltrated groups, hunting or extracting high value targets, running with Kamenici and others on Deer Island and on the mainland, people coming and going, groups rising and falling, to State Security getting an active push recently again and now we're here.

This is just a mild recap and so much more happened. It's been cool 3-ish years. But only in hindsight do I truly understand, because when something is on-going you just tend to roll with it and are worried about other things. At least that's how I see it.

It's like the Owl of Minerva - only in hindsight do you understand or see it all better.

Probably more than anything having the honor of meeting all you guys and gals through LM and networking to try and bring storylines together. Wasn't always successful but we had some great times and made friends.

Bullying @Lindse and @Zanaan in Dredgens was fun.

New Moon coming back was great for like a week.

Sniping CDF in Cherno skyscrapers right after lore wipe was probably the most fun individual moment.

I remember back when I was working with the Saviors in Novaya Petrovka, and had my own little trading shop. Then the Cartel rolled up on us, and you know you've fucked up when you hear people in the distance saying "Ey vato". So we got held up by the Cartel, and had some good RP. That was some good memories.

Most memorable points must have been the Svetlojarsk Trading outpost with that crazy doctor running it...RIP Henry Graves (forget her char name but god damn that was some good rp!) And the beginnings of Alexei's 3 year long relationship with misery with the PCC. From the death of his brother all the way up to his execution by S-GRU, it was an endless stream of fun...in a weird, Schadenfreude kind of way.

For my character, James Tigre, it would have been when I met Buck and formed a friendship with Jacob Antone @Vandire that I thought would last until the end. Unfortunately, our characters went separate ways and never "reunited" despite meeting each other months later in Livonia. The largest change would have been when my character became depressed and lost of any meaning. Longing for a return home to the US. Then opening a trading post in Polana, Livonia and helping people and even getting notes of gratitude from the Pathfinders and LDF and other randoms. It was a driving motivation for my character to keep on going and not giving up hope. Now he has a happy ending and has managed to find a way back to the US. I think with out that very low point in his life and starting a charity center in Polana, he likely would have died through suicide. But those notes really helped him. Not to mention, Soup Kitchen helping him out and Forgotten Mountain as well.

Another memorable moment for a long dead character was Richard Tiger turning over a traitor in the Quarantined to @Lemons and this learning OOC that I was heavily considered to be the traitor of the group but I was actually one of the most loyal. Sadly, that character was killed by the Black Roses in Prison take over.
