We must make suppressors great again as I have heard they are quite useless. A similar mod to look at the effects that should be done can be seen here. Just to clarify the mod is only an example of what the DayZRP devs should do, not saying we need a third party mod as it would be a waste to add something that changes only one little thing.

I'm 100% with you on this. The suppressors are pretty much useless atm, more of a decorative item for you gun imo. It would be nice to have one that does what it's intended to do ? .

Especially against the infected. Please better the suppressor against infected.

Seeing as they were always mostly fine player-wise (perception-wise) but totally unrealistic zombie-wise - yeah sure, aggro on me across half a town or city away - this is basically a much needed fix or mod workaround since it used to be more realistic in past versions.

 

Given that zombies are also tougher, this is needed and I cannot imagine any reason against it or not implementing it. Possible technical issues seem low on abstract level and in fact it's even seemingly more realistic than just setting it universally to some level, but depending on type of caliber/weapon so that's a plus.

Let's make it happen before LW or with LW, please.

I voted no because imo the mod makes suppressors too good, a 90% decrease in suppressor audability is way too much. This can be developed in house and tweaked to be workable but not unbalanced and then I'll slap a +1 on that bad boy

This gets my +1 ive been asking for this with the developers for the last few days now.

The radius is completely off to the point you might aswell use an unsuppressed gun because it will attract the same amount of infected anyway

I'm +1 this. While I'm glad to see the Dev Team work on suppressors, this will be a much needed stop gap until it's ready.

 

Infected are pretty dangerous, anything that gives you a realistic chance to defeat them without getting swarmed is much needed IMHO.

+1 But I would like to see them spawn less. Suppressors are certainly not rare at the moment. I see everyone walking around with suppressors. You find them more than you can find guns. At least for me that is.

I get your point, but even if its 90%, people used to just spam duct tape on suppressors anyways so they usually never broke. Maybe for a form of balancing it suppressors could have a lower spawn as someone said above

I love this idea in concept, but in execution, it's too much, primarily in the durability area.

Decreasing the damage done to suppressors by 90% is a serious buff and the improvised suppressor is literally a water bottle, it shouldn't be durable, nor reparable with a roll of duct tape.

If we can make the suppressors a little less durable and keep the noise changes, I'm all for it, but I'd imagine we can do that with our dev team rather than adding another third party mod.

I support the idea behind this mod, but I do not support adding another external mod to the server. I've always been highly against it.

What Peril said above me is fine by me. Less durable silencers, but disallow Infected from hearing you as easily. Have our devs make these changes.

Suppressors have been useless against zombies for a long time, this is 100% needed.

Gonna post here :

So it seems the MSFC mod suppressors are actually silent and don't aggro zombies like the vanilla ones do. The behaviour when using weapons silenced with their suppressors is the same when using the VSS, when shooting on the ground, zombies will aggro where the bullet is dropped, not shot from. Shooting zombies and not killing them won't make them aggro to you, but ofcourse firing more bullets full auto "could" aggro them to you (50% chance I reckon).

I have tested these 2

But yeah, I'm inviting the rest to test them and also the pistol one aswell and see if it works.
