MVP Whitename Posted May 1, 2020 MVP Share Posted May 1, 2020 (edited) God I hope this is possible Simply put the rainy weather here on the island of Cherno Russia forces people to constantly set up a campfire and sit inside for 10-15 minutes, or dedicate half their inventory to cooked meat and heat packs. I believe it’s detrimental to roleplay because it constantly interrupts anything you try to do and makes you carry out everybody’s favourite: CampfireRP. i’m fine and happy if it rained once every 90-120 minutes but right now the frequency and duration of rain is really frustrating Edit: Also apparently Livonia rains a lot too so there’s that Edited May 1, 2020 by Whitename Link to comment
TheMcgregor
Although I am constantly banging on about making the game more difficult I am all for this. I don’t know anywhere in the world where it rains this much and the game looks so much more beautiful when it isn’t raining! its a yes from me! Edited May 1, 2020 by TheMcgregor Link to comment
Lucas
100% Yes! We've had constant days where we'd almost died just for running in the rain... Link to comment
groovy lamb
Yes!! I'm totally fine with it raining a lot on Livonia, it makes sense...But not as much as it does. Very frustrating and interrupts/takes away from RP rather than adding to it. Really hope it gets tweaked. Link to comment
Legend Brayces Posted May 1, 2020 Legend Share Posted May 1, 2020 Yes .. I try and manage it when I'm IG and on the server, specially if it rains too much. So if you ever see the rain suddenly stop, it's because the DayZRP Gods are mad at it. But I'd prefer for it to not be as frequent anyways. Link to comment
MVP Chewy Posted May 1, 2020 MVP Share Posted May 1, 2020 No. Just nerf the amount of garbage damage and -food/water it does to you. Link to comment

Legend Duplessis Posted May 1, 2020 Legend Share Posted May 1, 2020 Only on Chernarus. As for Livonia, well, I'm pretty sure the rain was one of the selling points on Livonia as a more survival-oriented map. 1 Link to comment
Sapphire Truemonkh Posted May 2, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted May 2, 2020 Totally agree that the rain needs a slight adjustment. I like that it keeps you on your feet and forces you to use certain tactics to stay warm, but sometimes it's just getting ridiculous and I think it needs fixing. Also make nights darker again, but that's probably a BI issue. Link to comment

It doesn’t keep you on your feet it keeps you’d at on your backside in a shed somewhere next to a fire! also if you want your new group to get known I would strongly advise thinking about switching to Chernarus. If the shift does happen again as you believe it will and everyone switches to Livonia again it will be weeks/months and by then nobody will know who your group is. Link to comment
Emerald Nonplayer Posted May 2, 2020 Emerald Share Posted May 2, 2020 It rains too much that's for sure. There needs to be some adjustments done because as of right now if you don't have any cooked meat in your inventory and you're traveling somewhere you are forced to stay inside a house with a campfire. So I believe lowering the amount of times it rains would be very good adjustment to the server. Link to comment
Sapphire CamoRP Posted May 2, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) I voted no, because: I like the rainy weather, and I am okay with it's current frequency. It prevents people from hearing you walk by when you're sneaking around them. Also decreases the chance people will be able to pinpoint your shots. It encourages more roleplay by people sticking together and staying inside shelter while it passes. Frankly, I am tired of sunny weather and moonlit nights. I wish there were more variety, so the more rain the better. In regards to staying warm. Wear clothes that has less water absorption. Use heatpacks (or cheat using hot food). Stay indoors with a lit fire. It's a survival game! Edited May 2, 2020 by Camo 1 Link to comment
Diamond KorhaWB Posted May 2, 2020 Diamond Share Posted May 2, 2020 I voted no, with similar reasons as @Camo mentioned. I have had moments where I have spent over two IRL hours inside a cabin with a friend taking shelter from the rain. To then suddenly have strangers come and ask if they could join us to wait out the rain. And it encouraged us to stick together and interact with each other, and as time progressed, the tensions increased as well as everyone was a bit iffy and didn't know if anyone would pull a gun or not. Definitely one of my favorite moments thus far. 1 Link to comment

Diamond Player 1 Posted May 4, 2020 Diamond Share Posted May 4, 2020 I don't mind the rain. Just how ridiculous it is when you can freeze to death so quickly. I've been in winter rain before. It's not THAT cold nor will it kill you that quickly. Link to comment
Sapphire TarynBR Posted May 4, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted May 4, 2020 I wouldn't mind a slight decrease, but not by much. It's fairly realistic for the area Chernarus sits in. Link to comment
