Casual_x
Fairly new here so i don't know what the peak times and hotspots are, but I've been getting on the Livonia server nearly every day and it seems like theres rarely more than 8 players online. The Chen server seems much more populated. Whats up with Livonia? Link to comment
cmohr
There seems to have been a mass exodus from Livonia to Chernarus. I think people miss Chernarus, and a few think that Livonia is kinda bland. Not many large cities, most of it is small villages and endless fields. You'd be better off just making a new character and coming to Chernarus tbh. Link to comment
Diamond KorhaWB Posted May 1, 2020 Diamond Share Posted May 1, 2020 Multiple of the biggest factions went back to Chernarus, majority that I've spoken to also seems to prefer the Chernarus map more and seems that the interest in Livonia have been falling quite a lot the past few weeks. Diamond JasonBR Posted May 1, 2020 Diamond Share Posted May 1, 2020 Livonia died out sadly. Chernarus is still fun tho, unless you're russian. 4 Link to comment
Legend Para Posted May 1, 2020 Legend Share Posted May 1, 2020 Livonia was nice for a change of pace, Chernarus is t he better map. Livonia is a god awful and boring map with literally no change in terrain other than the river. 1 Link to comment
TheMcgregor
For the time being I’d give up on Livonia. Do I think people will return? No. Expect Cheranrus to be at full capacity within 2-3 hours whilst Livonia won’t even hit 20%. Edited May 1, 2020 by TheMcgregor Link to comment
MVP Eddie Posted May 1, 2020 MVP Share Posted May 1, 2020 Because it is dead ngl It died when everyone started to migrate back to Chernarus. Link to comment
Diamond Poster Posted May 1, 2020 Diamond Share Posted May 1, 2020 People will always rotate maps. I really enjoyed the Livonia Map but personally, I know of a ton of folks who left because of shitty RP they kept coming across in Livonia. Moving to Chernarus gives people a chance to start new with a character and hopefully get a new mix of interactions. Link to comment
groovy lamb
I think Liv was a nice change of pace when it first came out, but because of how sparse and small it is...People got bored fast. The character lock didn't help it's cause either. Most people have fond memories/roots on Chernarus and bigger groups migrated. Like some people said above, probably best to play a character on Chern if you want more frequent RP. Link to comment
Roman
S-GRU made Chernarus great again with propaganda and roleplay. @Chewy and @Roland helped. Edited May 1, 2020 by Roman 5 Link to comment
Diamond Player 1 Posted May 2, 2020 Diamond Share Posted May 2, 2020 Livonia will pick up again. Its map rotation time though. I'm liking the lore and story on Chernarus though. Feels more grounded in realism. More lore support and people seem to put thier best foot forward there. Link to comment
Sapphire Truemonkh Posted May 2, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted May 2, 2020 Personally I still like Livonia and will continue to play on there. You have to go looking for the RP but it's still there and I think as soon as base building is gone and everyone stops sitting in their humongous castles, some of the community will return to Livonia as well. We all have our preferences but if I had to go LOOKING for roleplay on ANY game it would be a big red warning sign to me. if you enjoy it though then that’s all that matters I just worry your group members may leave due to boredom and I wouldn’t want to see the effort you are putting into the group go to waste. Guest
I have personally hoped that it would balance out into a more equal-ish state of affairs, having groups and people keeping both places interesting, but instead now Chernarus is getting more attention. It is a welcome improvement after all the downtime it had, but it makes me wonder where all the people have gone who wanted to see Chernarus discarded and were hailing Livonia as the ultimate place to be. Guest Generic Name
Population migrated to Chernarus when Soup Kitchen archived because it was the main RP hub. Then with lower population making it harder to meet other players it kept dwindling down to nothingness, and the players who had characters they liked on Livonia (like myself) can't transfer them to Chernarus to keep their story going, forcing us to make a new character. We used to have 2 half full servers and people complained, now we have one half full server, no one's complaining but numbers are way down and RP is stale. What do you know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edited May 4, 2020 by Generic Name Link to comment
Emerald Nonplayer Posted May 4, 2020 Emerald Share Posted May 4, 2020 Yeah people lost interest in Livonia and migrated over to Chernarus. At first Livonia truly was a breath of fresh air, but after a while people got bored of it, and I can see why. Livonia as a map its not as diverse as Chernarus is. For example Livonia lacks any bigger towns with apartment building, clocktowers and etc. Where Chernarus has it all and even more. It also doesn't help Livonian's case considering it was basically built with the same models as used in Chernarus, only a few new models were brought in for the map. Anyway Id suggest you make a Chernarussian character on Chernarus and migrate over from Livonia if you still play on there. 2 Link to comment

Livonia has lots of features like all the broken towns and the forested areas give me a much bigger sense of dread and I really like Radunin, it has amazing environmental story telling (I don't think there is an area in Chernarus that looks like it). Livonia is more focused on the survival aspect and I do think the map overall could do with a large town. However I think both maps have their appeal and it's really sad to me that there is no balance for who plays on which map. For now I'm gonna stay faithful to Livonia.^^ Link to comment
Legend Duplessis Posted May 4, 2020 Legend Share Posted May 4, 2020 Chernarus is simply a better map imo. Livonia is pretty... for a week. I know a lot of people use the bombed out towns as a reason to like it, but to be honest I don't understand why people will base their decision to play on a map which peaks at twenty players every night because of bombed out of towns. Livonia has no unique environments aside from this, it's all the same. Fields, small towns, and maybe one moderately sized town bordering on a city. It's just boring. And everyone was concentrated in the RP hubs. There was no reason to explore the map outside Sitnik or Nadbor, which is a huge waste imo. To me, it's more important to have a high pop on one map, than to have one map full every night and one peaking at twenty. Link to comment
Sapphire Truemonkh Posted May 5, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted May 5, 2020 How exactly do big towns make a "good map". I agree Livonia has its issues but it's just a way different animal than Chernarus overall. It's not about "playing on the map because of the bombed out cities" it's an interesting feature to the map that gives it a much more run-down look and feel in general, which some people enjoy more than the visual style of Chernarus. I do agree that Livonia lacks a bit of variety that Chernarus has, it's not as "spectacular", one could say, like there is no broken down ship at the edge of the map or a huge ass tower in the center of a town. However Livonia has a way more coherent structure and is not bogged down by unnecessary bloat, Chernarus is imo too big. Livonia has really interesting places like Radunin that just stands above so many areas in Chernarus when it comes to how interesting the, look. The overall more rural feel of Livonia gives way to a feeling that people might actually have lived in the houses on Livonia instead of having 20 appartment blocks per city where most of them aren't even furnished. And even though Chernarus has prison island it is put off to the side of the map while in Livonia it's a place that grabs your attention immediatly and not only helps you navigate, improving the sense of progression but especially in this community it's also an immediate indicator to a RP hub since there is always someone up there. Chernarus is way less focuses that way. And saying that there was no reason to explore the map outside Sitnik and Nadbor seems pretty invalid to me considering who lives in Gliniska, Huta, Topolin, Gieraltow, Dolnik etc. to me seems more of a problem of people having gotten to comfortable in their communities and not going out to explore anymore which ultimately lead to humungous castles being built instead of roleplaying with many different people. I'm just saying, both maps have their appeal, but at least Livonia is pretty for a week while Chernarus is always ugly (joking ofc but I do prefer the visual style of Livonia when it comes to colour work. It just looks like it's always autumn and grey/brown in Chernarus whilst the sunsets in Livonia and lush forrests and overgrown cities are a sight to behold). Sorry just a little opinion piece because I'm a bit sick of Livonia being discarded as "the map with bombed buildings". There is just so much more to it than people say. I can respect preference but I feel that shouldn't allow for what is in my opinion an unfair critique. Link to comment
Fred
Well in my opinion it was only a matter of time. Livonia might make a comeback, since the balance has a tendency of switching whenever. But personally I don't like Livonia too much, I've been playing on it for a little bit, and it's desolate. Chernarus has a lot more going for it, because of all the towns. I like the Livonian environment, don't get me wrong, the nature and everything is very good looking. But when it comes to actual content, that you can explore, I think Chernarus takes the cake. Which might've contributed to the decrease of players on Livonia. Link to comment
