Sapphire Truemonkh Posted April 29, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) The situation all over the globe worsened quicker than anybody could have expected. Luckily Switzerland responded quite quickly to the coming threat and started the “Swiss National Redoubt (or "Réduit")”. A plan which was formed back in 1880 that was developed as a response to foreign threats. At first only a small part of the military was actually moved to the bunkers in the Alps, the rest was meant to aid and protect civilians for as long as it was deemed possible. Bigger cities like Zürich, Bern and Geneva fell a lot quicker than the less densely populated villages spread all throughout Switzerland. About 120 days after the initial outbreak the rest of the Swiss Military was ordered to retreat to the Alps. A research team was formed by the UN and WHO and sent to a secret bunker in the Alps, accompanied by an international group of soldiers, where a weapon was to be produced to combat the infected more effectively. This research was to be spearheaded by Swiss virologist Dr. Hans Vondermatt. After extensive research and development a gas was produced at the “EMS-Chemie” facility near Chur that would immobilise and kill the infected. Around 200 days after the outbreak it was dropped into dead zones in Germany and France, resulting in an estimated five to six million less infected. But shortly after, the facility where the gas was produced fell, making it pretty much unavailable. Research for a cure continued anyway. Since the infection did not seem to affect animals. they could not be used as test subjects, so human testing was inevitable. At first they used volunteers from the group of soldiers. Infecting them intentionally to gain as much knowledge as possible whilst trying to produce a cure. Lots of attempts failed and because the virus was hard to contain, many more died. Some of the scientists would use themselves as test subjects, ultimately succumbing to the effects and dying as well. Meanwhile food supplies became shorter and shorter for the Swiss military held up in the bunkers and the feeling of unease in the remaining soldiers grew more. Fighting over the supplies ensued and most would either be killed by their former comrades or would end up starving or leaving the Alps to hopefully survive elsewhere. Some even resorted to cannibalism. Luckily the secret research facility had enough supplies to last them a short while longer. Seeing that further testing was not only pointless but due to the dwindling supplies a change of focus was in order as well. Vondermatt decided to take action and proposed the idea of “The Final Order” to his group of remaining soldiers, which would be a task force, consisting only of people that were immune to the infection and that would be willing and capable to act out the given mission: to clean out all the infected and burn their corpses, city by city. Each and every member has to go through the ceremony of being bitten by an infected and survive, as well as proving their combat effectiveness to be allowed as a part of "The Final Order". This bite would become their mark, like a tattoo, just a bit more painful. They would begin their mission in Switzerland on the third of October 2019 and sweep through the country. John “Krieger” Wojownik, former Captain of ARD-10, the Swiss special forces unit, would lead the mission and finish it less than a year later on March 28th 2020. Some of the soldiers would fall during that time but scavenger reports from purged population centers suggested up to a 90% decrease in infected activity, labeling the mission a success. After this success story in Switzerland they decided that their work wasn’t done yet. Leaving behind a small section of the group in the lab inside the bunker to aid Vondermatt in his research. However, the rest of the group decided to split off and to take action in a different country. They refurbished an old helicopter and started a reconnaissance mission across Europe, flying out day after day trying to find the perfect location for the next mission. Many countries were considered, but they ultimately decided on the Nadbor Region near the borders of Lithuania and Belarus because they spotted large groupings of infected from their helicopter and due to a similar population count as Switzerland (around 7 million) and due to a beneficial geographic structure of the land, Livonia seemed like the logical choice. So John gathered the rest of the men and flew over to Livonia to continue “The Final Order”. Long Term: Clear out the threat of the infected within a year across the country. In progress Create a list for "marked" people who aren't immune and monitor their position and health. Indefinite Create a rolling convoy that surveys the country and can quickly intervene anywhere. Day 1125 Establish a "Quarantine Zone" as a base and begin testing the citizens of the country for immunity. Day 1150 Offer protection, shelter and training for civilians inside the quarantine zone in return for their service. Indefinite Fight hostile groups actively to keep their presence low and to keep their attention off of the civilians. Indefinite Find and refurbish a facility where the gas can be produced (0/1). Day 1150 Create a detailed compendium about the infection to be published to all survivors (0/1). Day 1180 Short Term: Establish four stashes around the country to provide the team with easy access to resources at all times (2/4). Day 1060 Gather information on Nirvana and research its effects and decrease use of the drug by force. In progress Create fifteen public food and clean water sources for survivors scattered across the country (0/10). Day 1050 Form relations with at least three friendly groups to share supplies with (1/3). Day 1080 Find and assess at least ten more fitting recruits (3/10). Day 1090 Build a medical team for our troops and survivors in need (0/3). Day 1090 Provide lore based and high quality RP for everyone we meet. Create a group that focuses on PvE and RP and show others the appeal in that, instead of focusing on PvP. Help out newcomers find their way around the community. Virus seems to have a 6 hour incubation period and 16 hours after the exposure the person would begin attacking non infected individuals. Side effects of infection in the first 6 hours include coughing and sneezing. The virus does not seem to affect animals (further investigation on different species required, preferably on humanoid creatures such as chimps). Maybe an increase in aggression in certain species like wolves could be observed (further investigation required). Leader John Wojownik @Truemonkh Second in Command Julian Steiner @System Jones Duke Tucker @dre_tou Head scientist Paul Burns @Mr Frosties Operators Dahl Proctor @Trooper Recruits Henrik Birkeland Nordby @Magnatron Nicolas Faulkner @Bourbon_7781 Recruitment is open in the beginning. A shame you're on Livonia though. #Make Chernarus GREATER Again Yeah well one of the bigger reasons why Livonia was always my first choice for this group is that lore wise, Chernarus has fewer infected since it's ground zero and it has been there for longer than it has in Livonia, so to go to a map where there are amost no infected left with a group that focuses on getting rid of them is just a bit silly. And also, Livonia is better, fight me on that. #no need to make Livonia great again it already is Edited April 30, 2020 by Truemonkh Link to comment

Emerald Wulf Posted April 30, 2020 Emerald Share Posted April 30, 2020 Well this a rather interesting group idea that could potentially push lore regarding the nature of the infection forward. I like. I also like that the backstory establishes some fixed lore for your place of origin. Just be a little careful on how you word it though, due to possible contradictions that could lead to powergaming ect ect. I usually find it better to leave a bit of a uncertainty to such things. For instance when stating: On 4/29/2020 at 4:36 PM, Truemonkh said: the average density of infected in Switzerland was reduced by 90%, which they considered to be a success. It might be better to say something more like "Scavenger reports from purged population centres suggested upto a 90% decrease in infected activity, labelling the mission a success" This adds in the element of human error as opposed to being a factual account. Anyhow, best wishes. Definitely looking forward to encountering y'all in Livonia. Link to comment
