This is a mod where old derelict street lights have been converted to take solar power and are powered by car batteries. I felt that it would be appropriate for the setting being for either Chernarus or Livonia and it would help provide another form of lighting to certain prefabs or independent camps for those who have the resources to dismantle old street lights and revamp them into what you see now.

I'm a little conflicted with the mod because the description is all in Russian but it looks to be a legitimate mod design with a decent amount of ratings. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

I think we have enough light sources. Torches and gas lamps can be used to travel the streets, and we have flood lights to light up hubs. Gonna go with -1 since its also all in Russian and theres no real way of deciphering how it works/how to use unless one can read Russian.

I honestly don't know why anyone wanna brighten up the apocalypse sure battery charged lights at a camp would make sense, but street lights? Who would maintain them even with battery and solars they would break especially in a B country like Chenarus

No. Flood lights, lamps, and camp fires do the job just fine. Why would anyone go through the effort to maintain one of these street lights, besides I don't believe any settlement will use them.

This is not needed imo. We have plenty of light sources as others have stated. This is an apocalypse, torches and campfires have been doing us just fine.

No. This is an apocalypse. Having a working flashlight is a blessing, having NVG's is a miracle.

Three years into the zombie apocalypse and you think street lights would still work? I cant vote yes for this sorry.

- upon reading properly I can see you stated they would be solar powered however for me I think the batteries would be used for other more important things and not community street lights

I mean to be fair, when was the last time you've seen anyone use a flashlight or let alone a head torch. Granted it's been a minute since I've last been on but I remember that the night time wasn't all that dark.

It wouldn't be all that unrealistic to think of one who might be tech savvy enough could re-power an old street light. Is it necessary to, not entirely, but let's not pretend that all street lights won't work because it's been a few years.

I personally love using the head torch, tac light on the helmet or guns, or the actual torch item. Feels more apocalyptic. Gonna vote no on this one.

I love all the lights, be it flashlights, headtorches, chemlights or floodlights. Shame that the light drawing distance is very strange and on mid-ranges it's simply not visible. That being said, it would be nice if you could use fuel/car batteries to bring the lights back on. I miss dark nights, with bright nights on the server I really get pitch black nights.

Not like civilization completely broke down. From South Zagoria province alone, civilization is but within one map away, roughly, meaning if you were to measure the size of South Zagoria and move the same size West, you'd be within a safe zone or its immediate outskirts. It's a car drive down the (coastal) road. Same shirt North, probably, towards Russia.

 

If technical and stability issues are a non-issue I see few issues for the mod or something similar allowing more interaction with the world and its light sources. Perhaps on a trial basis.
