Suggestion: I would like to suggest that Dexamphetamine should have an increased spawn chance (%) and increased spawn rate (limit per map).

Why: I haven't played in nearly four months, and I have recently returned. During my last couple weeks playing again, I have visited numerous hospitals, clinics, and other places around the map of Chernarus and Livonia. I have not seen a single bottle spawn. I heard from other members that it has a spawn limit of 2 (or was it 10?) per map. The point is, I never see it anymore. The chance of a single individual finding a working car or getting one fixed up is rare. It's a whole other matter to keep that car from being destroyed desync, or stolen when you're offline.

Other Thoughts: I believe the spawning was well-balanced from what it use to be in late-2019. I would hope to see it returned to that. I will admit I found about 5 bottles a week (20-30 hours) before hand, but you'd be surprised how much you travel in this game, especially if you don't want to stay at a settlement hub with dozens of players all the damn time. I like to enjoy the other PvE aspects of the game, not strictly roleplay.

Terminology:

Spawn chance - is the percentage possibility of it spawning amongst the other items in the same loot-table. For example: Medical clinics spawn various medical equipment. If 10 items spawn in a building at a given time, Codeine may spawn 60% of the time, while Dexamphetamine may only spawn 10% of the time. This means Codeine may spawn in 6 of the 10 available spots, while Dexamphetamine may only spawn 1 of the 10 avaliable spots.

Spawn rate - is the rate at which an item may spawn on the map. Items may have caps on how many can spawn on the map at a given time. For example: If Dexamphetamine has a maximum cap limit of 10;, ten only up to 10 bottles will spawn on the map at a given time.

I think it should be a rare item, so I like the current spawn rate.

No clue how bad it is but I think it's fine as it is, can be rare and this puts more emphasis on the one-time use injectors. I realize for a long time we had endless stamina and now have to manage our stamina based on what or how much we carry but that's exactly the incentive I see. You want more or heavier crap? Get weighed down - with little chance of often using magic pills or drugs that would possibly give you long-term (in RP / IC) issues anyway. Want more stamina? Travel lighter.

While I often would argue in favor of convenience, here I think it's fine as it is. I still have a bottle I found months ago and treasure the last pills for emergency use. The few pills or uses left in my eyes don't justify convenience to travel a long distance and are more like emergency use to get away or somewhere during emergency, but that's just how I personally view it.

It's pretty OP, wouldn't reccomend making it spawn more often

One option:  increase spawn chance, decrease to ~10 uses per bottle.

Accidentally voted for increased chance, but I think it is good as it is. Its rare and its OP, and it should be as it is right now. I remember when it wasn't as rare everyone was popping those pills on journeys and it basically made everyone look like drug addicts, so having it rare is a good idea.

There's already 50 pills per bottle. No need to increase the spawn-rate or -chance.

Need to decrease the amount of pills in one bottle and the effect to be a bit different too and add in a chance of a heart attack or sth if you make it a habit.

I find them in military camps and clinics. But they are a cursed item. Each time I decide to carry them on me, I get killed by a bug involving zombies so I usually the bottle until I find a buyer and sell them. So I say they are fine as they are.

Please don’t, I don’t wanna kick the habit ? Well sought after item and usually run out pretty quick anyway, they’re fineeeee

It's clear the the majority at the moment are fine the way it is.

To be honest. I rather the bottles spawn more often, but with 20 pills per bottle. Then for it to be extremely rare with 50 pills per bottle.

Ironically I managed to find two bottles in the same vicinity just recently, but that was after looting one hospital after another for more than a week. Ridonkolous!

I do also find it odd it doesn't have a negative effect on a player's health. I was thinking maybe it should reduce your immunity slightly with each pill. It seems I don't get sick anymore if I have been taking Multivitamins repeatedly over the course of a long period of time (say a week for example). It also helps to always stay fully energized and hydrated as well as warm and outta the rain for health purposes.

They were fine when I was able to find them and abuse them as well to not have to crawl across the huge map, but rn i can't find them so time to nerf ?

I prefer the fact I only find it on the dead bodies of PvPers and when I am then killed it is subsequently passed on generation after generation in an endless cycle until all 50 tablets of goodness are gone.

As much as I love dex and hate the stamina system, the fix isn't to increase spawn rate. I like that it's rare, it's one of the few items i don't see stockpiled which is lovely tbh.

I think the spawn rate and spawn chance are fine. No need changing anything imo. I actually like seeing people feenin for it ?.

@Staff - This thread may be closed. No need to keep it open. Many members expressed their opinion that isn't not necessary, and that, and my own additional testing has lead me to agree with the majority now.

@Everyone - My main reason to bring it up as a suggestion was due to the fact that after numerous times looting on both servers I hadn't been able to find any Dexamphetamine. I thought perhaps there was an issue with the spawning or perhaps it was just too rare that it seems a bit unrealistic. Infact it's the right balance after additional testing. I recorded what items that spawned after each visit to the designated areas from the last 48 hours.. It appears the chance is fair to me.

It seems to be affected majorly by RNG, the game mechanic used on DayZ regarding loot spawning. I happen to get lucky this week and found four bottles.

I should mention on Chernarus where there's many more medical location (more so specifically Hospitals, not just clinics) it's not so bad. However this is not quite the case in Livonia. It may need an increase on there. However perhaps maybe not, one could argue that map is too small to have a regular need for Dexamphetamine.

Anyways those are my final thoughts. Thank you everyone for contributing to the thread and voting!
