The epitome of a warden entails one having care or charge of something; being both a keeper and a guardian.

The Wardens are a foreign group of survivors from many different backgrounds, synonymous in their prioritization of establishing peace after the outbreak.

As a former police officer in America, prioritizing peace, law and order has always been paramount for Blake Sims. This peace-keeping mission all began in Chernarus, when he met Dallas Price, a former SEAL in the United States Navy. After his police tenure in the States, Blake found his way to Chernarus to pursue a writing career, studying the land’s “haunted” castles. Little did he know, the outbreak would keep him stranded from his homeland for good. For the first year and a half after the outbreak, Blake lived on his own, usually kept isolated within the woods. Some hostile encounters early on with bandits taught him not to trust people and maintain a nomadic lifestyle. While Blake was alone on a nightly scavenging run in the city of Berezino, he was startled to have a flashlight shone into his eyes.

“Hey man, do you need any help?”

Immediately apparent from the stranger’s scratchy-accent, this was both the first American, and non-threatening-looking individual Blake had run into since the beginning of the outbreak: a relief on both counts. Blake’s hopes soon disintegrated, as he was struck down by the barrel of the man’s gun. The man had mistaken him for a cannibal he was hunting down, responsible for killing several of his squadron members. The misunderstanding was soon hashed-out, and Dallas made it up Officer Sims by cooking him the first steak he’d had in months. As two-lone wolves, they decided then and there that they’d be better off sticking together.

“There’s strength in numbers”, Dall assured Blake.

The two companions eventually found a suitable campsite, situated alongside a river just outside of Berezino. Things were going great. The two gentlemen mostly kept to themselves, taking time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life again. There was minimal contact with other groups, and they were ok with that. Besides occasional visits from a local group of priests situated at a church in Berezino, Dallas and Blake only ever had each other's company. This way of life lasted almost a year. One day while on a scavenging trip, Blake and Dallas were held at gunpoint by a large group of men, in black-colored military gear. The group forced them into a car, and drove them to a factory in Solnichniy. Their supposed leader threw Blake and Dallas into a room with an accused murderer, left a pistol on the ground, and told them to kill him or be killed. Before the men could get an explanation, the convey drove off. Blake struggled on the ground and managed to get control of the pistol. Dal yelled at Blake to kill the apparent monster.

“We don’t kill the living”, Blake assured Dal.

Blake, met with backlash from Dal, set the man free, and warned him to leave and never return to Chernarus. After a long walk home, Dallas and Blake managed to return to their riverside camp, only to find it completely destroyed and looted. Had it been the very man Blake let get away? That wasn’t for certain. What was clear, was they needed a base that they could better defend.

PaintingBlackLake.png.bcde7e0ae10ad71ee677bd6b7709ef28.png

Before the outbreak, Blake had come to Chernarus to study the supposedly-haunted Black Mountain Castle for an upcoming horror book he’d been wanting to write. During his retreat, he chose to stay at a small lodge on the border of Black Lake, just a half-hour hike from the Black Mountain castle. He was forced to leave the resort when the infected started to swarm the area, but with a capable fighter like Dal, he wondered if the two could make the place safe again. Sure enough, Dal’s military combat abilities made quick work of the infected, and construction began at Blake Lake to fortify the walls.

Along the way, the two met Doctor Corvus D. Cavaley. Corvus was an eccentric, former researcher from the CDC who was after a cure for the infection. He joined the two Americans in their endeavors to secure Black Lake. With just three people, finding the necessary supplies for survival proved to be very difficult. If not for mysterious care packages left by an unknown source, the three may not have made it very long at the isolated chalet. They would be forever in debt to whomever was responsible.

The goal at Black Lake was to eventually make a hotel for other survivors to seek refuge, but plans were quickly halted due to numerous bandit raids, and the local’s suspicion that the harmless doctor practiced cannibalism; albeit, due to some ‘questionable’ medical practices. Once again, trouble seemed to follow the two Americans.

PaintingNovo.png.36dfd0c79a0b6279f94234042795798d.png

It became abundantly clear that with so few numbers, defending Black Lake was an impossibility. With heavy hearts, Blake, Dal and Corvus set their sights on joining a larger group for protection. It was Doc Corvus who alerted Blake of an up-in-coming community being established by a group in the nearby city of Novodmitrovsk. Upon entering the city, Blake was surprised to be greeted by Ben Hansen, a soldier, and fellow American he and Dal had met earlier in Berezino. Ben welcomed the three gentlemen into the community, and it was here that Blake met one of his closest allies to-date, the old-man George Wolbert.

In their first week in town, Mayor Joel Miller hosted a BBQ, with several groups such as the Cavaliers, and Redwood Radio attending. All seemed well, until a body was found outside the gates. The groups suspected a supposed “Wolf” to be the culprit, based on intel he was around the town earlier. An aloof Ayden “Wolf” Striker was shocked and rightfully angry after immediately being detained upon walking up to the gates at his own free will. After hours of interrogation, Dallas Price determined the man was innocent, and connected with him as a fellow soldier. He assured Wolf was harmless, and vouched for his inclusion into Novo. His innocence would be affirmed after rumblings about the 503’s involvement with the murder coming to fruition. As the weeks carried on, Blake learned more about Hansen’s secret ‘Utile Umbra’ operation housed within the town, but didn’t ask many questions. They were good people, and he trusted them with his life. Blake set up a town guard within his first few weeks in Novo, and was quickly promoted to Chief of the City Guard. It felt good to protect the people once again, and Blake realized this was his role even in a new life. Things were really starting to look up.

    How long would it last?

PaintingTheFall.png.6bab9a3d9d177bda4c753010e37d5dc5.png

All good things come to an end. The vast defenses of the city proved to be too difficult to defend, leading to multiple raids. Waking up to stolen tents, food, cars and equipment became routine. Due to turnover within the group, responsibility for the city fell into Officer Sims hands. Blake and the other did everything in their power to revive the once bustling-city, but it would be all for naught. After several run-ins with hostile groups, including the Russian military, who confiscated all military-grade equipment from the survivors in Novodmitrovsk, it was becoming clear to Blake that there was no longer a place for him and his friends in Chernarus. It was time to leave this war-torn land. Where better to escape than thousands of kilometres away to Livonia?

PaintingNadbor.png.d3f9a8c794a5b8d64a2077183310dc17.png

After a lengthy journey to Livonia, Blake, Dal and Corvus made their way to Nadbor with several survivors from Novo, including George, Wolf, and Harley. They’d heard rumblings of a community situated in the Southern town of Nadbor, and headed in that direction. Upon first-entry into the town, they were welcomed by the people of Forgotten Mountain. After agreeing to be neighbours, Dal set up construction plans for a base situated around the fire station in town. It was clear that trouble had once again followed them, this time to Livonia. Blake began to hear rumblings of cannibalism, banditry, and murder that was all-too-familiar. He realized that these people were going to continue and try to force their barbaric way of life on innocent civilians. Forgotten Mountain themselves would soon become victims of it all, diminishing the numbers within Nadbor. It was then that Blake knew he had to assume a greater role to protect the innocent, and maintain peace in this post-apocalyptic world. Nadbor was not Officer Sims’ doing, and it was his goal to maintain control over a new city with his people in order to provide a safe-haven for those in need of protection.

Blake settled on the name “The Wardens”: an all encompassing description of a group determined to keep the peace. The Wardens would aim to provide salvation  for the most-vulnerable and suppress hostilities throughout the nation.

PaintingTheNote.png.14b1c293479e486b9796017b9f4279d5.png

The Wardens were worried to wake up to a strange letter from their former brother and leader in Umbra, Ben Hansen. It seemed uncharacteristic of a man they once knew. Harley would soon track down Hansen, not far away in the outskirts of Nadbor. They got word that Hansen was upset with Harley Dutton, claiming a hit was put on him, but Blake received little communication after the fact to confirm that notion. From the Wardens’ perspective, Harley was still one of them and had to be protected.  It didn’t take long before Harley tracked down Hansen in the outskirts of Nadbor, and he was angry when he found him. Blake and Dallas interrupted before a violent confrontation could break out between the two, but once again, Hansen had little to say. It was clear that this feud would punish both groups in the coming of days.

1deceit.png

When Harley Dutton received a visit at the fire station from an old member of Umbra, Levi Gaard, the Wardens were rather surprised to see someone who was so close to Hansen ready to join their cause. More importantly, they were suspicious. That very night, the Wardens were raided in their sleep. They lost everything - including all their charity lockers that Nadbor’s, and other passing civilians relied on for food, medicine and ammunition. The original Wardens immediately held a meeting and came to the conclusion that a spy was in their ranks, and it could only be their newest recruit, Gaard. They decided the best course of action was to keep this intel to themselves, and make Hansen believe that he was deceiving them.

PaintingTheAttack.png.22b8b573b0a351c1a3566831ba45a837.png

After pretending to sleep in a nearby house, Blake and Dallas set up radio communication with old-friend and now trusted ally of King’s Ridge, Dr. Corvus D. Cavaley. Corvus positioned himself on the fire station's roof, keeping hidden within a shed with his ears open. It wasn’t long until he heard people trying to break through their defenses.

“Now!” He wailed to the Wardens over the radio.

With that, Dallas and Blake sprung into action, leaving the house they were hidden within, catching several individuals actively attempting a break-in. Blake and Dallas managed to capture a man on the road, and bring him into the nearby house. The man was Jack Mason: former leader of the Praetorian Guard, now working with Umbra. It quickly became clear to the Wardens that Mason was uninformed. Ben had provided him intel that the peace-keepers were “hostile” and “committing hostile acts” to other civilians. Both Dallas and Blake had a lot of respect for Mason, and believed he was truly in the dark regarding Hansen’s raid attempts. Gunshots rang out. Corvus was struck twice, though they were only wounds. Dallas and Blake knew they had to get back to the base.

After making it across the street with Mason to the fire station, Dallas and Blake were surprised to be shot at even after ensuring no harm would come to Mason. However, Wolf managed to safely let the three inside. For the next hour or so, the Wardens spoke to Mason, who confirmed that Levi was a spy for Ben, and that Umbra was responsible for both raid attempts in the past day. The Wardens were both shocked and saddened to confirm their worst fears; people who were once their family were now acting against them with overt hostility.

The Wardens did everything they could to communicate with Umbra. They tried getting Jack to radio them multiple times, requesting that they come to the station to talk. They never came.

While he was in the fire station, the Wardens did everything they could to treat Mason with the respect he deserved: eventually removing his handcuffs, with him living up to the trustworthy, honorable assessment Blake and Dallas first evaluated of him. They learned it was Mason and his Praetorian Guard who humbly left supply drops at Blake Lake that kept Blake, Dallas and Corvus alive. While trying to get food from his bag for the man, leader Blake Sims was struck in the head by an unidentified Umbra sniper. Miraculously, and thanks to the tireless efforts of Doctor Corvus, he survived. His missing eye, however, would be a permanent reminder of the harm handed by his former family.

PaintingGoingHome.png.6fdc0e07c89ca8174a143366016242fc.png

After letting Jackson Mason leave free, Dallas, Blake, George and the others were thrilled to have the former PG leader show up to their gates only a night later. Over a campfire in the station, Blake entertained the idea of Jack potentially joining the Wardens. He was obviously someone who knew how to run a successful group, and was a major asset for the up and coming Wardens. It was something the Wardens had discussed, and the prospect of his potential recruitment gave even the depressed, old-man George some hope. Everyone was quick to welcome him with open arms after showing interest in the proposal.

The quarrel between Umbra and the Wardens came to a standstill after Ben Hansen contacted Blake via radio transmission, ensuring no harm would come to his people. Blake knew Hansen to be a man of his word, and took his guarantee seriously. Work was to be done in order to re-instill trust between their respective groups, but it was not irreparable. Things were beginning to look up.

Following constant raids from Livonian forces in Nadbor and an inability to coexist with the supposedly “reformed” ex-503 residents in town, a return to Chernarus seemed imminent. The Wardens were gracious for supply drops from their trusted allies, the Spartans, but it was time to leave Livonia behind for now. Not everyone would make the trip back where it all started, but a council led by George, Dal and Jack was ready to assume even more responsibility under the leadership of Blake Sims. Others would go their separate ways, such as Harley Dutton, but the return of Doc Corvus was a welcome addition for everyone. The Wardens learned from their mistakes in Nadbor and would make the positive control of a Chernarussian city to be their top priority to provide salvation and refuge.

All of the group lore has been compiled from in-game developments. Due to the complete in-character development of the Wardens as a group, IC recruitment will be strongly encouraged.

All applicants will undergo an IC standardized initiation interview, assessing that character’s mental fitness and capability, followed by a training period before gaining full Warden status.

For the most part, The Wardens are a lawful good group, so it would be preferable if characters fell in line with that notion.

Contact @Blake Simsfor any questions about the group, or inquiries regarding recruitment.

A lot of the goals seem very base building minded. Personally id like to see a few more SMART goals that move away from simply making a town for people to live in, maybe some goals that are unique and add something more to the server.

Other than that though good luck with this.

Thanks for the feedback, Voodoo! Really appreciate it.

So the plan with the town is actually not to rely on base building, but more of a "passport" type system we are coming up with for citizen identification; just to have numbers and a presence. We're already starting to set up our charity house, and that is just an open location within town with some storage where folks can take what they need. If we can get an armory together, that's where a bit of base building in the form of the MoreDoors mod will come into play, because obviously that can't be open to the public: for everyone's safety.

With that being said, I'll talk it over with my group and we will try and brainstorm a few more SMART goals that maybe aren't directly involved with the formation of our town.

I'm just going to spit ball some of my personal opinions about your page

Your group and values:

I personally really enjoy the idea of a group created settlement for civilians to live in because without such a settlement there's nothing for the good guys to fight for. It adds RP an point of Interest that's important for new players and non-military characters.

And the only poor things I have to say about your story are:

1.   I definitely cannot say I am an expert on how to make group pages but I do believe that certain information should be put out on your group page to show people that your group isn't a single dimension.
Such as the fact that you guys were trading drugs for guns.. I don't think it's a bad thing at all because you were intending on giving the guns and ammo out to the civilians that needed them.
I personally think you should add a little more flavor. Maybe saying things such as.. After figuring out where another group of hostile people live, you liberate their possessions to give out as Charity.

2.   Now the only storyline that I believe is absolutely necessary to have in this page is your relation with the 503. I'm honestly stumped on how you could include it into the page but because of the bad blood that you have with Michael Duquesne you will most likely be a Target if they ever move to Chern and that is very important for your group's history.

I have absolutely loved RP'ing with your group and you all are excellent people ooc. Good luck with the group application and I really hope it gets approved.

Thanks for the feedback man! I'm glad you enjoy our vision!

I appreciate the criticism, and I think it's constructive in a few ways:

First, I won't get into IC stuff and what has happened in the past, but one of our rules in Krasnostav is no drugs! The Robin Hood spin on that is a good idea though!! Getting people the supplies they need definitely coincides with our goals.

About the story line: there can definitely be more included about our interactions with the ex-503 members in Nadbor, such as Duquesne, and I will look to update that accordingly and how it influenced our move to Chernarus. However, as far as having the 503 as major enemies, that was a feud between themselves and Umbra in the past, when the 503 were actually active. Essentially, it was part of their lore and not as much ours. The fight with 503 doesn't have a ton to do with the development of the Wardens. The Wardens came into play during our stay in Livonia, long after our fights with them in Novo. That feud in specific wasn't a driving reason to starting the group. Nonetheless, I can look to add specifics to the "Novo" section of the lore to address the 503.

We had some awesome RP with you dude, you're quite the spy and an even better guy.

Hey guys!

I really like the look of your lore, and goals! It fits really well for a group that's claimed to be lawful good... so good job ?. My only gripe is with your graphics and layout of the images with the lore... erm I understand the importance/time that each photo is suppose to represent, however, I feel you could make the thread look more appealing to the passing eye if you touched the photos up or put borders around them or something. It just feels very block-y and a little bland color/image wise.

With that said I would suggest reaching out to other members who like to do graphics for group threads. It's a good way to add some creativity to the pictures and really give your group the flair it deserves!  Otherwise keep doing you and good luck!
