New Cannibal Group

I am thinking about starting a new cannibal group. Would anyone be interested? I have a couple of people who want to but I need a few more.

Hey good luck with it. I don't recall ever seeing an official cannibal group. This will be cool to see. Just be aware, the illness you get from eating human anything is incurable and you will likely become the enemy of everyone. Don't be discouraged if you have your heart set on it.

No we are thinking about being KOSable because irl if i ran into a cannibal i would kill them.

I actually have a cannibal of my own, have yet to play him as I am currently playing another character but should a cannibal group surface I would be interested.

Wrong, it is in fact the human brain that you would get Kuru from. Not the rest of the body.

too bad this is dayz and a totally finished game. You get kuru from eating any amount of human flesh in this game. ITs great fun.

Indeed, but otherwise people couldn't tell a cannibal from a player, it's a game mechanic thing, not really anything else. 
I will combat this in the game though by being able to eat normal meat too which cannibals also can and will do for survival. Yet there will always be that one craving they cannot hold back and that is when they act on their new instinct.

As for Kuru I believe our glorious overlord has already removed the laugh in terms of Kuru. So you should be gucci to eat it.

I find most cannibal groups are rarely handled well, as people tend to jump to wayyy too obvious "I eat people" roleplay thus bringing them hate and much death. 

As long as you remember that consent needs to be given OOC before you can start chopping off fingers/meat, or executing people and eating them (they would have to perma for this to make sense). Otherwise I suggest writing small narratives explaining how you guys totes one time ate a dude/dudette to explain how they're getting their nom on. Stags did a similar thing but IG with the serial killer. All the victims were lovingly called "NPCS" as they were pure fiction, and made up. Not real players. Thus allowing him to "kill" as a serial killer would do but not run into situations in which he had to ask OOC for perms to murder someone and for them to perma. 

Other than that, there's people out there who'd like to RP this I'm sure. But be prepared to be hunted/hated when others learn you eat people since ya know, it's only been three years and eating people is still frowned upon.

This idea is great, i had a experience with a cannibal last night and it was fantastic and horrible rp, a group of you would be fantastic as long as youre providing good rp.

What i will say is though, Don't make yourself KOS'able. Although it's honourable etc people will just abuse it and use it as an excuse to give you minimal rp and then claim they 'killed the cannibals'.

Good luck to you, we tried with the group above but it was very much polished everywhere that we were cannibals as soon as we took our first victim (which you have to keep alive as per the rules) and then they run off and tell everyone that they had a piece of them taken. 

That then led to a few questionable metagaming situations which led to us losing interest to play as the group because everywhere we went somehow we were known without giving much away. @Brian can confirm this, but overall I wish you luck.

Tip: If you don't want to get Kuru best thing to do is not eat the meat. Infact you don't actually need the human meat just RP it out, we used to steal kidneys and skin

I think a good way of handling it would be having a very honest, scary group page, but handling your RP very differently to lure people in. Being an openly cannibal group in-character is signing your own death sentence, and often won't lead to very interesting RP. People will just avoid you.

Though, if you present yourself as a friendly group, only to lure people in, it would give you a shot at getting some pretty decent RP, kidnapping people without them even knowing they've been kidnapped. Some proper cult-type shit.

Also, you should keep watch for metagamers. Few may not know this, but your group page is not common knowledge. If you set your group goals as "eat everyone lol", players shouldn't even think about knowing that in-character. If they do, they can be banned for metagaming. So you're safe from that, at least.

@Ashley Timsdale You do that group page and I can guarantee you that my character Jared is in the roster, I like the sound of a cannibal group. 

@Angel I have in fact played a character before that fooled everyone to think that his cause of laughter was just a cheerful spirit. It's about playing it smart and not actually revealing what you really are.

Well, once upon a time I was owner of a group of cannibals. Everything was fun and going well. Our group page was very open and you could easily see we were a cannibalistic group, however we did not portray that in-game. Due to our group page being so open about all the things we would get up to, a large group at the time used this to their advantage, but before anyone gets upset it was only a few people in this group that did this which then lead the others to believe them. So we just began acting like cannibals, taking people whenever we felt like it, but as soon as we tried to cover our tracks again, or as soon as someone in a group of people never said a word because of there easily recognisable accent (my sexy Scottish one) they were forced to speak. Again it never did help the fact we had a streamer in the group.

Anyway, what I am trying to get at here is that people will always metagame cannibals. People just don't like cannibals and that is completely understandable. However when we RP'ed as them it was really fun before it all started happening so if you are going to give it a shot, be prepared for all the shit that may or may not come with it. And everything @Voodoo said is 100% correct IMO.
