Peace of mind. A warm and welcoming place. The smell of a campfire and roasting food.

Simple things, really. But far less abundant in the apocalypse than one might think. Sure, there were tiny moments of refuge. Refuge from the fear and the constant fight for survival. But it was never enough to be satisfying. Many people felt this struggle, including a man named Loki.

Loki had bigger dreams. He wanted to create something where he could see people’s smiling faces regularly again. Just like in the old Carnival days. The smells of food, the echoing laughter, the warmth and enjoyment of the Carnival all fondly filled his memories.

 

 

 

 

 

Along the man’s travels, Loki became the friend of a couple of young Chernarussians, named Marek and Sabina, and decided to include them in his dream. As time went on, their little group grew as they spent more time with a man named Radek, and then a man named Kane, and a man named Kuba. The little group slowly grew, and plans were set into motion to set up a small settlement that offered food and basic supplies to other survivors of the apocalypse.

The group always traveled and lived nomadically, sticking together. But casual conversations over time about settling down and giving back to people spurred them all into action. The first tiny sparkle of what was to come was born.

 

 

 

 

 

As Loki spoke the words “Soup Kitchen,” Marek and Sabina’s eyes lit up. They loved the idea of starting a project like that. But where to start? First, they needed a location. Somewhere near a water source. In their search, they came upon a settlement built by their friend Kuba at Prud Lake, in Chernarus. The man decided he no longer wanted to remain at the camp and offered it to the group of travelers to use as their startup.

And that is what they did.

Scavenging for supplies every single day, they managed to scrounge up tents, barrels, and building supplies to construct small buildings at the camp by the lake. It was not a highly trafficked area, but it worked for the beginnings of the Soup Kitchen. Eventually, people came and were offered food, supplies, and medicine.

 

 

 

 

 

Eventually, as their ideas expanded and their needs changed, it was time for a new location to build a proper soup kitchen. What better place than between towns where there were often a lot of gunfire and dangerous people passing through? It made sense, as they wanted to get more traffic and help as many people as they could.

It was smack-dab in between the Vybor Military Compound and the town of Pustoshka; a lonely house in the middle of the field along a dirt road.

The Soup Kitchen in Chernarus gained popularity quickly as more and more people spread the word after stumbling across the cozy camp that surrounded the Lonely House. The group chose not to rely on radio broadcasts and simply let word of mouth do the advertising for them. They told their visitors that they were welcome to take food and supplies left in the camp’s storages, but it was not a safe place to hide from their enemies if they had any. As the camp continued to grow in popularity and the traffic picked up of people coming for soup, so did the antagonizing by larger groups.

The Soup Kitchen became known as an easy target for raiders…

And slavers...

 

 

 

 

 

Marek and Sabina were deeply invested in the camp and became the faces of the Soup Kitchen. They began meeting people who had heard of them, but that they had never met before. After putting up with a kidnapping a few days before, the pair were captured once again by a group of slavers that operated out of the Northwest Airfield.

Without looking back, the couple fled entirely after waking up in the woods with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Luckily they had a car stashed in the woods not far from the Soup Kitchen camp. In it, they fled as far as they could go, not stopping until they were far enough away. It took them a couple of days of driving, pausing only to get some sleep in between, until the couple finally ended up in the country of Livonia, in the Nadbór region.

They met up again with a friend they had made in Chernarus - and thought they’d left behind - named Larry Thompson, who was well known by a lot of people. Larry loved the Soup Kitchen and joined the group, fitting in easily within their ranks and remains a valued member to this day.

The creator of the Soup Kitchen, little to their knowledge at the time, would also make his way to find them several months later and bring a certain feline, that they missed deeply, with him.

 

 

 

 

 

Feeling as though they were far enough away from the danger they thought was pursuing them, they settled in the town of Gieralów. Sadly, Loki had not followed the pair to Livonia and they were now alone. Wanting to start fresh, Larry, Marek, and Sabina found friends quickly that helped them remake the Soup Kitchen. Other people and groups began residing in the town and the Soup Kitchen did trade with a woman named Iris and her restaurant.

It wasn’t the same as their old camp in Chernarus, however, as it lacked the “open” feeling to it. They had a large gate on a big concrete building. It was easy to fortify and it protected them, but it wasn’t really welcoming like they wanted it to be. And thus it was time for yet another try at making the ideal camp.

 

 

 

 

 

One of the groups they became close friends with was one named An Pobal. The leader of this group offered to protect the Soup Kitchen in exchange for them moving closer to the town of Sitnik. He mentioned that there were a lot of people moving through that area, and the idea intrigued the Kitchen. After all, their main goal is to help people, and the more people they can help, the better. Sabina, Marek and their new and close friend Viggo went to explore possible locations in Sitnik.

Upon arriving at the little Summer camp just North of the town, the trio fell in love at first sight with the place. The air was fresh, birds chirped all around and a gentle breeze rustled the branches of the large tree at the center of the camp. It was the perfect location for the Soup Kitchen to reside. Almost immediately, with the help of friends they had made along their way, the small group got to work building up the Summer camp, sprucing it up and turning it into what it is today.

Eventually, more cabins were built and a tower was put in with the help of the growing number of residents, friends, and visitors. This and other features turned the camp into a relatively safe place for most travelers to come and get a hot meal and even a place to lay their head after a long day.

 

 

 

 

 

The Soup Kitchen sees hundreds of visitors each and every day that stop by the camp through their travels. The group has been gaining members recently and people that are interested in joining have been integrating themselves into the community that the Soup Kitchen has created. As for conflicts, well, the Soup Kitchen has already acknowledged that they are easy targets publicly.

And that is the truth.

Being generous and kind people means that larger and stronger groups have someone they perceive as weaker to bully and push around. However, they have gained the favor of a few bigger groups that vowed to protect the innocent Soup Kitchen from those that would do them harm. In Sabina’s mind, they must take the risk of being easy to pick on if they wish to continue as they are and help people survive this apocalypse. Since not all of the hostilities have been resolved, Marek and Sabina, the leaders of the Soup Kitchen, will work toward quelling the anger that has sparked in the large groups and show them they simply want to be friends.

The couple hopes that peace will prevail and plan to work toward peaceful solutions to all the conflicts they are involved with, while still maintaining their neutrality and being able to welcome all the people of Livonia to the home they have made for themselves and their community.

 

 

 

 

 

Short Term:

1. Build relationships with trader characters and offer them shop kiosks to trade supplies from. [2/2 Kiosks occupied by traders outside the group, Day 980]
Both kiosks in the camp have been occupied.

2. Recruit more members to form a security team and medical staff to maintain order and health in the camp. [Ongoing, 8/8 People recruited, Day 990]
Recruited enough members, but will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Completed as of 2020-03-14.

3. Help any other groups build their bases and get set up with food and supplies, helping strengthen our community and ties with groups within Livonia. [2/3 Groups helped, Day 1020]

The Nameless - 2020-04-03 - Supplied with food and supplies at their camp West of Roztoka. 

4. Gather resources to construct additional cabins and structures in the Summer camp. [2/5 Cabins added, 1/3 Sheds added, Day 1030]

5. Gather supplies to construct additional metal watchtowers. [0/2 Watchtowers added, Day 1030]

 

 

Long Term:

1. Maintain a neutral and friendly standing in the culture of Livonia by allowing everyone and anyone into our camp to come and socialize, as long as they do not cause hostilities within the camp. [Ongoing]

2. Improve our relationships with all of the groups in Livonia. [Ongoing]

3. Setup a mobile Soup Kitchen to deliver food to other settlements. [Day 1000] 
Completed first delivery as of 2020-04-03 with delivery of food to The Nameless' camp. Started writing notes to advertise the delivery service in game. Will continue delivering to settlements as time goes on.

4. Open a second soup kitchen camp located on the other side of the region. [Day 1065]

5. Continue to provide food and aid to all survivors that come into the camp. [Infinite]

6. Try not to die. [Infinite]

You will have to spend some of your time around the camp and offer your skills to help the Kitchen thrive. Creating and maintaining an overall friendly community is a large underlying goal for us ICly and OOCly. If you feel that you would fit into a community like this, we welcome you to come see us in game and on the radio waves.

My experience:

I've heard about soup kitchen in Chernarus before, but due my guarding duties on station , i was unable to visit once.When Livonia officially pop up and we start to play , i heard soup ktichen is operating there too. @DerrickStorm and @MrsSunshine made us get to know each other with soup kitchen. @Eagles , @Morytania , @BrycePottre are really unique rp'ers ,i know their friend also same like themselves. I enjoyed every single minute that we spend together. +(plus) i was really happy to see around @Lemons in Livonia, now its more stabile Soup Kitchen with him around  I always like to rp with you guys , keep it goin !
