About the Infected...

Recommended Posts

"Ugh, another post about the infected, here we go". I know I know, but I have a few points I want to make without bandwagoning on older post...

First, I don't think the Infected should have such a health boost. A shot to the head with CR-75 to a FX-45 should down them IMO. To be honest, there really isn't a definitive explanation about how Zombies work, so you could make the point that a shot to the head doesn't always work. However, if we're going with the common ideas about how to kill a zombie (mainly derived from things such as The Walking Dead, and other media that helped popularize Zombies), then a shot to the head should be it, not like two or three. I like the damage they can deal, just not the damage they can tank.

Second, suppressors shouldn't still attract the entire towns worth of Infected. Yes, I know that suppresses IRL don't completely silence a shot (cough cough John Wick cough cough), but they do help to reduce the noise from a shot somewhat significantly. I'm not saying that when I shot an infected I think nothing should be able to hear me, but I am saying that the entire town shouldn't. Idk if I'm asking for a change in the agro radius of the Infected or the suppressing ability of suppressors.

I know that I might sound like a broken record here.

Thoughts?

Buff the chance of getting ill from being cut from the infected; more treatment required with limited resources. Increases medical Roleplay

But for the love of god/rolle. Increase headshot multipliers so that sidearms become relevant again for infected

I wouldn't mind the increased health on zombies if it only took 1 headshot to take them down. I understand how shooting them in the chest and limbs wouldn't really stop them, but come on, it shouldn't take more than 1 shot to the head.

This is what I'm saying! Head shots with most* guns should down a Zombie!

A person that frequents the prison here, dealing with 30-40 infected every 20 minutes because their spawn rate is high,

sure it would be nice to not have to pump so much ammo into the infected as those are my precious PvP bullets. But honestly it’s not really that bad. I don’t personally shoot infected unless absolutely necessary and when I do it’s with a m4 or AKM or something of nature but I don’t really have a problem 1 tapping zombies in the head. And people that complain it takes to many bullets to take down a infected is kinda eh. Like if we base off of say The Walking dead Zombies only way to drop them is with head shots and as those are already generally 1 shots on the server. Zombies I’d say are fine where they are at. With head shots usually being one taps and body shots multiple (as they should be if we are talking about the walking dead zombies) I’d say it’s all fine.

tho would be nice to not waste so much pvp bullets I gotta say for the sake of them actually being a problem is no. It’s not hard to deal with them

edit: if anything needs changed it’s spawn rates.

Not everyone wants to roll around with a military grade rifle, and since they're quite finite not everyone has the ability and luck to find one in the first place.

If we have so much story lore, why don't we have clearer lore (at least from a meta perspective) about the nature of the infected?

If they're similar to the infected from 28 Days Later, they should take the same damage as an ordinary person/survivor. If they're more skin to undead, one tap headshots should be effective with 9mm or 45 acp, 380 should still be wimpy.

As for their damage rates, the only issue I have is the plausibility of their DPS. Three infected, regardless of their nature, shouldn't be able to beat down a survivor in 5-10 seconds with their bare hands.
