So it's BadRP to be racist in game now?

NOT REPORT LAWYERING just asking a question about BadRP. I AM NOT ASKING FOR THE VERDICT TO BE OVERTURNED

I saw the verdict here:

Here we see that @Hollows was given BadRP because "the hostage isn’t happy with what is being said OOCly but you elect to keep this going" So because the hostage said in OOC that he is not comfortable with racist behavior the hostage takers must immediately stop with this? Does this apply to any form of RP or is this just for homophobic, xenophobic, transphobic, racist and sexist RP?

For example if i'm not comfortable with someone being a Germanaphobe that calls me a Kraut or a nazi can i tell them to stop in //OOC chat?

I find the verdict a bit funnily written as well. So since his character was white it was BadRP. But if his character was black him saying "stupid black person" (website changes the term but you get what i mean) would have been just fine?

Thank you for your time

@Rover I see where you are coming from. I accept that answer

As I may be handling an appeal, I won't speak to the specifics of this report, but in broader strokes.

We are all here to enjoy ourselves and have fun. If someone expresses in OOC any form of "I don't like where this is going" or "This RP makes me uncomfortable" we would hope and expect members of our community to behave in a mature way, and either tone down elements of the roleplay that their RP-partner doesn't find enjoyable, or shift the RP naturally to another subject, another avenue of hostile RP, or essentially a different tool in the toolbox.

This is a careful balancing act. We obviously don't want to encourage hostages to make comments along the lines of "Robbery triggers me, please don't take my possessions" as thats obviously a different level then more taboo subjects like racism or sexual roleplay. I have yet to personally witness an incident where a hostage made an unreasonable OOC demand such as that, and if I ever did I would heavily encourage it to be reported. This is by its nature a dark story-telling community with mature tones. But at the same time, we want everyone to have fun OOCly, and not be turned off returning to our community due to certain RP themes that they struggle with.

There is an extreme difference between racially motivated roleplay, and someone dropping the n-bomb 15 times a sentence for the lulz and the memes. Much like we don't expressly ban sexual roleplay, we do however have rules against immature sexual roleplay or people essentially taking the piss with it. This can be applied to every other RP subject as well, such as someone meme'ing and dropping N-Bombs not because its good roleplay, but just because they can. (Again, to reiterate, I'm not claiming Hollows did any of these things). In the end, the discretion will come down to the staff team at the time whether the request being made by a hostage and the hostage takers reply to it is fair.

I hope this helps answer, you are welcome to DM me for further clarification or edit it in if I can help clarify anything else. If its directly related to the report in question, it'll need to wait for the appeal or one of the signors to come in and clarify.
