Sapphire HDragon Posted February 14, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) An Pobal Hello everyone! Hope you like it. Designed by @HDragon with the help of @HeartlssHeretic. 84 items Location: Spoiler Backstory: Spoiler Livonia was a part of the Soviet Union until 1991. During this time the Soviets established multiple small military installments and propaganda centers. During this building's time in the Soviet Union it was set as one of the main propaganda management centers in Livonia. Once the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 the base was set to be burned down until Soviet loyalists decided to remain in Livonia and keep the center secretly running. During this time the Livonia government had sent multiple LDF team to check out the old Soviet base in an attempt to obtain some of the old Soviet documents. Due to the ex-Soviets that were occupying the base this was nearly impossible. The Soviets knew exactly what the LDF was trying to do but the LDF would never siege the compound in fear the the new Russian Federation would act on any aggression shown towards it's old roots. The back and fourth between the ex-Soviets and the LDF carried on for almost 2 years before the Livonian military called off all operations on the area. In spring of 2001 the compound had loosened its grip, many of the ex-Soviets began to loose their ambition and drive for the goals they had set. Many of the ex-Soviets began to move back to the motherland and resume a 'normal' life in the newly established Russian Federation. Once most of the Soviets began to move out the base's housing began to fill up with ethnic Russians that lived in Livonia. This movement of people established this place known to locals as 'Little Russian'. Little Russia became a well known area in the Nadbor region by locals for a few reasons, it's fishing from the Wolisko lake and trading from some of the street side shops there. The main building became a monument to times past and the surrounding buildings were filled. When the outbreak began Little Russia became a safe haven for those looking for shelter. The community was able to sustain itself and keep on going. Those who lived there believed that the outbreak was temporary and all would be well. This is when the Russians began invading Livonia. During this attempt in annexation the LDF was led to believe that Little Russia was housing Russian infantry and began shell the area. This was known as "The Russian Slaughter", the LDF ended up killing ethnic Russians who were Livonian citizens. The Russians heard about the shelling of ethnic Russians a day later and launched a raid on the artillery encampment that shelled Little Russia. The Russians massacred the LDF that had destroyed part of the base and then went to establish a outpost there before most of the troops were called back to Moscow to aid in stopping the collapse of the Russian government. Behind them they left a stockpile of AK weapons, Russian radio equipment, and food supplies. This outpost became a place that survivors would fight over in the early days of the outbreak, but it would be soon forgotten... Sapphire Marik Posted February 14, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted February 14, 2020 I like the ramp and the entire compound looks very solid but for a place that has been abandoned pre-apocalypse I feel that it isn't as destroyed as it should have. Perhaps add a bit of overgrowt to it? or some hole in the walls. Surely the admin's wouldn't mind if you're a bit over the object limit given your group size. //Approved Link to comment

MVP Basko Posted February 18, 2020 MVP Share Posted February 18, 2020 I like the backstory of the base and the general idea of the settlement. There is one thing though that bothers me about the design. The walls in the middle of the compound just seem odd and out of place. It feels like the walls were purely put in to turn the base into a fortress. This isn't a problem in itself, but I think you can achieve this in a more creative and better looking way. In the current state, the difference of the buildings outside the walls (which are a bit broken down and give an old sovjet feeling) and the walls themselves with the 'clean' looking courtyard just seems odd. Try to work it out with some different asset in the offline builder to see if you can change this. Feel free to contact me is you need help with this or if you wanna discuss my critique. This is just feedback and I don't think it is too bad to not be approved. So you still have my vote. //Approved 2 Link to comment
MVP AndreyQ Posted February 18, 2020 MVP Share Posted February 18, 2020 Group settlements should be settlements built by the group members not just a random POI that was there because of X/Y reason. It should be built based on the group's theme and goals, in order to create a more aesthetic roleplay environment. I'd take a look at the Joyce's settlement and try to create one that portrays your group. 4 Link to comment
Titanium CJBB Posted February 19, 2020 Titanium Share Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) I think this base could give unfair advantages much like the previous Wolfpack base. I must agree that the buildings outside look randomly selected and placed. Where as the main compound is raised multiple feet of the ground. doesn’t give the community vibe either what your group is primarily about. It’s clear this base design was designed with pvp focus in mind (I may be wrong) but that is what I get from looking at this place. I would suggest building a place that looks like a community not something that looks like it’s just there to add to the defence of one building. As mentioned above the Joyce’s base is a great example. Edited February 19, 2020 by C-J Link to comment

But yes, it is something that was considered when making the base. You will notice that many of the buildings surrounding the area are at a height and angle specifically designed so they can look into the base, with a couple being additional potential access points if taken under siege. As for the community, we decided to go with a ruined look to the town to allow people to build as they saw fit rather than be confined to humdrum usual buildings seen around town. We wanted to try something new. Sorry if that disappoints you. Link to comment
El Presidente Roland Posted February 19, 2020 El Presidente Share Posted February 19, 2020 I too share the opinion that the buildings look out of place. Especially that two story city block on the corner built in the middle of the field. You probably need some ambient cosmetic objects around the place to make it blend in more, cause right now it really sticks out. 1 Link to comment
Sapphire HDragon Posted February 19, 2020 Author Sapphire Share Posted February 19, 2020 Updated screenshots, removed the apartment buildings and replaced with new and improved decor. Maximum roleplay added. Link to comment
Sapphire Ryan Shepherd Posted February 19, 2020 Sapphire Share Posted February 19, 2020 Going to have to be brutally honest here @HDragon. Bases shouldn't have some random story of why it was built 40 years ago and suddenly now its here. Prefabs should be built in today's time line by the groups themselves. They should be built with realistic material by realistic means. The base doesn't look like what your group seems to stand for, 'community'. It looks like you attempted to make the area look run down with the use of the almost demolished buildings but then you used a military building encased in a raised concrete base completely walled off reducing the ability to break a wall and not to mention a ramp which is essentially a kill box for anyone who tries to gain entry, not to mention what seems to be only one way in and one way out? I would of prefered if you created gaps in the fence to give it an authentic old feel and you could of build regular fences in game to account for these. These points make it lean more towards Gear storage protection and PvP advantages and little to no 'community' feel. Your original base at Sitnik itself was a perfect example of an actual community, you should of taken aspects and idea's from that. As it stands, I don't give this base my approval. 5 Link to comment
